Hey, special k mommy! Thank you so much for your comment at my site. I see you found your way back into Caring Bridge -- I think it was just being flooded with love and comments, which may explain the difficulty you had accessing it initially. They have something like 311,000 hits and over 5000 messages now!
It's such a mixed deal -- relief that his suffering and sadness is finally over; and pain that a vibrant being has been ripped out of the fabric of the universe.
God is a good God, and he has surrounded the Barkers with a huge support network of family and friends and pray-ers. Judging from your own site, you have your own challenges to face! I hope you have a similar network of support and comfort. I will pray for the safe and speedy return of your husband, and for you as you hold down the busy fort.

How sad, but you are right that the battle has been won. Jesus has certainly defeated the pain.
