This morning I woke up to get the kids ready for school. Kass and Kam were already awake so I told them to come downstairs and Kassidy said, "Mom, can you get this off my finger?"

"Uhhh NO! I can't!!! It doesn't BELONG on that finger!" SO in a panic I called my mom to come stay with the other 3 kids and rushed Kassidy into the doctor's office. They didn't have a ring cutter there so they sent us to a different office where they were able to cut the ring off. They said the swelling should go down in a day or so.

Needless to say, she won't be wearing a ring again until she's engaged!

Oh ouch! Look at her finger!!
Yikes! What a way to start the day.
Oh geez. Did she freak out?? I would have. When I was pregnant and started gaining weight, I decided to take my wedding & engagement rings off before I couldn't get them off. Well, I waited a little too long. I couldn't get them off and I panicked. I finally managed to do it, but man, it's a sucky feeling.
She didn't freak out until I freaked out! LOL I asked her why she didn't wake me up and she said she was worried I'd be mad! I was like holy cow, WAKE ME UP next time!
When they were cutting it off she got all teary but she did good, she said it didn't hurt, it just scared her. They gave her a HUGE package of Starburst candy when she was done.
Don't think too much about it. My 11 year old did this. Thankfully we were able to cut it off with wire cutters.
Do you ever have a dull day in your house?
I can't believe this happens often enough that doctors actually keep ring cutters in their offices.
Poor thing--ouch! I hope the swelling has gone down by now!
And shame on the doctor for giving Kass Starburst! Didn't they get the sealant memo from the dentist, lol?
Wishing you a low-key, doctor-free weekend...
Ouch, ouch ouch! Poor Kassidy. I hope you have an easy weekend, with no emergency trips to the doctors office! Plus praying for Kennedy's trips to Vandy next week.
Owww!! I'm glad she not too tramatized!! Good thing your mom is close by!!
Thank goodness. Another success story!
Man! I would have freaked out!!!! Thank God they could take it off and I am praying that swelling goes down quick!!
Well they were actually going to send us to a jewelry store at first but then one of the doctors there said that the other office had a ring cutter... I don't think they used it too often though because they had to search for it... then like 8 doctors came in to look at her finger!
She doesn't get the sealants on for a couple more weeks so I told her to enjoy the starbursts while she can! LOL
It's still pretty swollen, but hopefully it will look better tomorrow.
We have to go back to the doctor tomorrow to get Keeghan his 3rd rocephin shot... he has an ear infection... again! At least it will be a quick in and out though!
I've been surfing tonight and saw that your family has also been blessed with a little one with Ds.
I'm Tammy. Mom to Parker. Nice to meet you. :)

I had to have my wedding and engagement ring cut off my finger when I was preggo with Gabi! I was just swollen because I had barely gained any weight. Only 7 pounds! I found a jeweler who did it!
