My kids rock!

On Friday, report cards came out... I have to admit I was a little nervous about Kassidy's math grade, she's struggled a bit this last quarter... not because she doesn't know her stuff, she does; but come test time she is famous for making senseless mistakes or just skipping problems altogether. I've wanted to strangle her a few times! BUT somehow she pulled it off!

Kameron, being in Kindergarten, doesn't get letter grades this year. They grade on whether the child has mastered all the skills that have been taught. If they get an X it's been mastered, if they get a / it has not been mastered, if it's blank, it has not been taught. SO look at all the Xs!!!

Yep, my kids rock! And they each got $5.00 out of the deal... and coupons for free ice cream and kids meals at various fast food places... that they wanted to use all in one night! HA!

Great job, Kass and Kam!

They don't do letter grades here until 4th grade, so I'm looking forward to next year!

I am very impressed with the small number of absences they've had, given all the germs that have gone around your family, and with Kennedy being in the hospital and stuff. That is so cool!

Have a great week!

Yeah they've done pretty good on absences this year, in fact, the 3 that they have were not for sickness, one was the day before Thanksgiving break and we took off early for Michigan and the other two were when we went to see High School Musical.

Now LAST school year is when they had the constant strep and Kass missed 11 days in one quarter because of it. I got a nasty letter from the school district even though I always turned in doctor's notes. GRRRR Like we could help it!

Just found your blog through Katie's. What a beautiful family you have!

I am a speech-language pathologist and have worked with several children with Down Syndrome who were later diagnosed with leukemia. These families have easily been some of the most amazing I've been fortunate enough to know.

I haven't seen hand written report cards in ages! So glad they are doing well!
