To tell the truth...

Tomorrow I turn 27, 28, 29. No, really. I'm not one of those people who say I'm 29 when I'm really 38... at least not this year! I have a funny feeling that whenever I say that I'm 29 this year people won't believe me... but I guess they shouldn't have asked me my age in the first place huh?!

My birthday has always been one of my favorite days of the year. When I was a child I would start counting down 100 days in advance. I used to write it on EVERY paper in school, "99 days until my birthday!" I don't think one teacher ever forgot! haha I would always go to Red Lobster for my birthday dinner and order crab legs. The last few years I've changed over to Outback for rack of lamb. This year, I'm going to McDonald's! I'm trying to think of something different, being that it's my last year in my 20s and all.

Since having kids, while I still look forward to my birthday, I look forward to their birthdays even more and those silly kids don't even know when my birthday is! No more presents for them! Kameron said that he wants to buy me the craft light cutter for my birthday... but I have to give him money first because the tooth fairy doesn't pay him enough. At three bucks a tooth, they should have seen what I got as a child! So I told him he better start pulling more teeth out! ;o) Kassidy wants to buy me the new Miley Cyrus CD... I'm thinking SHE would get more use out of that than me! I figure as long as I get 4 great big hugs and kisses and maybe get sung to I will have all I need and more from them.

Now my husband... a few days ago he confessed he forgot to send me a card... but I told him it's OK because he can make it up to me when I turn 29 again next year. I really AM 29... I think.

Last month I had the 5th anniversary of my 29th birthday. heehehe
I don't think I ever posted a comment for you, but I have read EVERYTHING you've ever posted - old caringbridge, carepage, blog. I've laughed and cried and rejoiced with you. I guess it was time I came out of hiding. I LOVE you and your family. You are just an awesome mom. I LOVE Kennedy, and thanks to you all things down syndrome. I'm just in love with these babies with a little something extra. God has so touched me with these cancer kids and now all of Kennedy's friends with Ds. I walked the 5k at the Memphis St. Jude marathon weekend this year and can't wait to do it again.
Anyway, I know you didn't wanna hear about all of that. I just wanted to come out of hiding and tell you how much I appreciate you letting me in to your family and touching my heart.
In Him,
Allison

Happy birthday to a REAL 29 year old from a REAL (nearly) 38 year old! Ditto to everything Allison said! Except the 5K part... exercise, ugh LOL. I just give money to St. Jude's the old-fashioned way ;-)

Hope you get to have a great day, McDonald's or not!

Yup....making me feel old too! And hey, you're only 5 days older than me! I WISH! You actually made me remember that my birthday is coming up, it completely slipped my mind. I'd rather forget it. I'm inching closer to my "upper 30's" (did I say that out loud) and I'm NOT LIKING IT ONE BIT!

HAPPY OF HAPPIEST BIRTHDAYS TO YOU!

Happy Birthday! I miss 29 so much.
It's funny, I can remember when my own mom was 29, now I've passed 29-I'm 33. Where does the time go?

I love your blog! Your kids are amazing and beautiful! You are extremely brave for having to do it all alone at times and a role model for all of us!

And I share the same birthday as you :) Happy Birthday!

29?!? How are all of you with so many kids so darn young?!? I knew I was late, but I have never felt so old!! I was barely married at 29, and so immature still. You must be even more amazing than I've gathered thus far, my cyber friend!

Happy Birthday!!!!! I hope it's SO awesome in some fun way!

(PS...I just realized I have a cousin in Clarksville--army wife with spouse deployed, but no kids--who LOVES kids. Maybe I should hook you guys up?!)

You sound like me. Out of the 5 kids in my family, my brother only knew my birthday because I ran around singing it all year long!

Happy Birthday!

Happy 29th Birthday! I believe you.

I turned 39 last week, and nobody believed me! They gave me the "yeah, right, whatever" look. I kept having to say, "No, I really AM 39!!"

Happy happy Birthday to you (one day late!)...I hope you wore a tiara...even 29-year-olds should be able to wear a crown and be treated like royalty on their birthdays...that's my belief!! My birthday is near the very end of July...but somehow I got in my head at a young age that the 4th of July fireworks were for me in celebration of my birth! I still get a little flutter of excitement, humbleness (for me? really? you shouldn't have!) and bigheadedness at the same time when I see the fireworks on the 4th...even now!
