The doctors at Vanderbilt consulted with each other and other doctors at different hospitals deciding what to do about Kennedy's chemo... they put her on a new protocol with no guarantees if it would work or not. After pressing for statistics, percentages, SOMETHING, they told me, "Really Renee, it boils down to either 0% or 100%. It's either going to work, or it won't." I stopped asking and started praying.
Here is Kennedy during her first round of chemo, as you can see, she didn't lose her appetite or her sense of mischief!

More later....

Thank you for posting these very precious pictures and very private moments for all of us to see. For me, they give me hope. The very real possibility that this could be part of Zoey's future is eased a bit by having witnessed Kennedy's journey. Nothing can prepare me if it becomes reality I know that . Nothing could have prepared me when we faced it 5 hours after her birth however knowing I could turn to you if I needed to means the world to me. Thank you for the gift of your daughter.
I don't even know what to say but, faith in Him is all we truly have. Yet, at times I think do I have enough?! Thank you for your willingness to share the battle you have faced and the faith that has carried you through.Thank you also for letting each of us into Kennedy's life! Praying the word cancer and Kennedy are never used together again by any doctor. Praying for her labs on Tuesday!
I just wanted you to know we are not dogging you. We are actually here with my grandma and we are on her time or else I would have called you so we could meet for a meal. Next time! I know you are close so soon we will make it happen. H
I just want to scream because I just typed this huge comment and lost internet connection just as I hit publish and lost it!
Anyhow, I am behind in my blog reading and have been reading your posts! Poor Kennedy! Her eye looks horribly painful! It does look like a stye! If it doesn't go away it may be a chalazion though. My oldest had one for close to a year when he was about 2 yrs old.
Love the new look! Rebecca did a fantastic job once again!
What a strong little girl she is !
So cute just want to hug her! thank you for sharing with us
hugs to her and your family!
I remember the sheet artwork. She is just amazing and so beautiful!
I remember the sheets too! God I love that little girl. I pray for a lifetime of remission and for no more surprises! She's dealt with enough!
Hopefully that never comes back. You've been through so much.
She is so beautiful. I love the photos. What is the total length of time for treatment of AML?

AML is 6 rounds of chemo... it usually works out to about 1 round a month. It's 5 days of chemo and then recovery time before the next round... the chemo is very high dose so it really takes 2-4 weeks to recover. Our shortest admission was 16 days, our longest was 24. Then as long as she stays in remission, that's it. If she were to relapse she would have to do more chemo to get back into remission and then get a bone marrow transplant.
