Did you know that for some of those kids, a transplant is their ONLY hope for a future?
Did you know that YOU can register to be a bone marrow donor?
Did you know that it's FREE* and painless?
Did you know that you can be a hero?
The National Marrow Donor Program is doing their annual Thanks Mom! Marrow Donor Drive. Until May 19th you can sign up for FREE (it's usually over $50). You can sign up online (it takes about 30 minutes) and then they will mail you a kit to swab your cheek and you mail it back, and that's IT! You will be on the national donor list!
What an awesome thing to know that if you are called, you can give a person with cancer a second chance at life. Amazing. PLEASE go sign up. Become a donor. Save Kennedy's friends! They need you.

I did this last year and it was such an easy process and I am proud to say that I am now officially on the registry. I highly encourage everyone to do it. What an amazing oppurtunity to (hopefully someday) be able to help someone with the gift of a shot at life!
I plan on donating platelets at work at the donor center very soon and when I do, I will be added to the registry if I so choose and I am definately going to do it!
That's awesome! I think I might go ahead and sign up. I wasn't aware that it would cost in the first place.
I wanted to let you know that I have a giveaway on my blog. It's my first. I would be honored if you would sign up for it... even if you don't want the product, it would make a great gift. :)

Just this morning, Josh and I drove by Blood Assurance and talked about he needs to become a donor, so we're planning on doing it the second he has a chance! :) I registered about 5 years ago. It may sound weird, but I'd be thrilled to get a call to potentially save a life! Good luck with the donor drive! ~leslie
I just ordered my kit. It says my hubby can't because he's in the military. I also posted a blog entry and linked to the donor site. I never realized how simple it was to get on the list. I'll let you know when my kit arrives.
Did she really? I thought it was a pretty cute top for summer and a great price, too! :D
I'm nervous about the bone marrow drive. I'm scared about the procedure if I'm picked lol!
That's so cool! We tried to do this a year ago, and never had the money!
More good news... I sent the information to my mother and MIL.. My mom read they are in need of hispanics. So she signed up, along with my father and she sent it to the whole family. Also got a friend to sign up too!! Who knew your post got 4 people to sign up as of now. And im sure it will continue to grow!!!
I was thinking, if you wanted to another contest, to see who could get the most to sign up, ill contribute a 25.00 Gift card to target or somewhere of winners choice.
I hope people take advantage of this...only 7 days left! Someone asked me why it isn't ALWAYS free. I don't know, do you?
As you can tell I have been a ways from the internet for a while. It was teacher appreciation week last week (as well as nurses day...well you know that.) I was busy with PTO.
But I am back and catching up on blogs and carepages. Boy, I missed a lot!
LOL, Theresa
Hello there - I just wanted to let you know that I followed this link and signed up on the registry back in May. Last Friday I got a call and was told that I am a preliminary match for a 60 year old man with leukemia. They are running some tests on the swabs I sent in and will be in touch with me soon. If it all works out, I will know something definite in 4-12 weeks. I am praying that I will be given the opportunity to give another person a second chance at life. Thanks for posting this because you might have a hand as well in saving another person from the cancer beast.
