A Big Day for Keeghan!!!

Keeghan has been kind of at a stand still developmentally for the last month or so and we've just been waiting for him to take off... Today was the day!!!

This morning, Keeghan finally decided that just MAYBE a sippy cup is not so evil... and guess what? Liquid comes out of that too!!

This afternoon, Keeghan did something we have been working with him on forever - he took his first steps!!! He's only taking a few at a time and will only walk back and forth between either Kassidy and me or my mom and me, but he'll be off and about soon and I will be wondering why I EVER wanted him to walk!! :) I was so afraid I was going to miss his first steps while I was in the hospital with Kennedy, so I am SO excited he's doing it now!

This evening, during dinner, Keeghan started clapping his hands! He's been clapping on his thighs for awhile now, but he finally brings his hands mid-line and claps! A PT would be proud! (Right Leslie?!)

Then tonight before bed he picked up my phone, and instead of eating it, he put it to his ear and started babbling! YAY no more drool in my phone!

Now if I were a good blogging mommy I would have pictures of all these things, but I thought about it too late... sooooo pictures to come later!

My favorite "growing up" story about my niece, Chalee, is when she was learning to say "Hello". One day she was walking around the shop saying "hello" to everyone..."Hello Ashley"..."Hello Aunt Henen"...."Hello Seth"...."Hello...Kitty". Then she stopped, realized what she had just said, made the connection that that was, in fact, Hello Kitty's name...and was so excited that she "got the joke"! IT WAS HILARIOUS! I love to watch their sense of humor develope!

I totally understand what a big deal the "mid-line" thing is. Yeah, Keeghan. I'm so glad he decided to take some steps so you didn't miss them. What a good boy! What a CUTE boy!

Way to go Keeghan! I'm so glad he decided to do this while you were home! I got to see my nephew for the first time over the weekend. He was 1 in April and is just thinking about letting go of the furniture, and he was talking on the TV remote over the weekend. LOL

Way to go Keegan!!! You're right - in a few weeks you'll be questioning your desire for him to walk!!!
