Date night

Tonight, my mom stayed at the hotel with the kids while Frank and I went on our first (and only) date of 2008! We went to one of our favorite restaurants - The Melting Pot! Our friend Lisa and her mom gave us a wonderful gift card to use there so we have been looking forward to it for a long time! We ate good food, talked about the kids and laughed a lot. It was nice to spend time together that didn't involve typing in an instant message screen! Thanks Mom for taking care of the kids!

More tomorrow!

Glad you had a good time! I have never been to the Melting Pot (not even sure if there are any within a 300 mile radius) but been wanting to try it. You both take a great picture! Did you make the waiter take it??(here's a question for your next answer post)

You guys look great together. I am thankful for his service but even more thankful you guys got some quality time together. Not enough of that for those who serve.

I am so happy he is safe and with you all together as a family. Even if it is for a short while and during a trying time in your life..there is nothing like having your soulmate/bestfriend on your side.

Have fun and try to relax for the next couple days.

Oh Renee, I am so glad that you and Frank got some alone time. That is very important in every relationship but more so when you don't see each other much. Kuddos to your mom for watching the kids. Will be praying for you over the next few days extra hard :)

I'm praying for the upcoming surgery and for the recovery, all having to stay at a hotel. As a mom I can imagine how patience-testing that will be, but with lots of prayers going up on your behalf, I know that God will be taking good care of you all.

That is so great. We love the melting pot too. But never good when action is gonna happen that night. Your stomach is just way to full and you can never suck it in enough to look nice. :) Hope you had fun. H

I read your blog about One Year Ago ... and it brought tears to my eyes. I saw Kennedy's photo on www.thebalsisfamily.blogspot.com and didn't realize at the time that Kennedy was your daughter. I sure will be praying for her and your family. How is she doing? My name is Heather and my blog about my little Down Syndrome baby is www.messickmom.blogspot.com. She just recently had heart surgery.

That is so great that you two got some alone time. And what a brave grandma to stay with four kids by herself in the hotel ;). Looks like you two enjoyed your evening together.
