So remember my refried refrigerator? Well last night, my cable box all of the sudden stopped working. Keeghan was next to it so I thought maybe he hit the power button... he does that often. I tried to turn it back on and it didn't work, so I went over to the box and scooted it out only to find *gasp* LIQUID coming out of the box!! Turns out that Keeghan thought it would be a good idea to put his bottle in top of the box... and apple juice dripped in. :( Being the smart person that I am, I thought I better unplug the box. I can't reach the outlet so I pulled the chords from the back of the box... and shocked myself. My hand is all tingly and I feel a bit like Tim Taylor! haha I called the cable guys but there was nothing they could do, so they told me to go to the cable office and they would swap boxes for me.
I went to the cable office at 8:00 this morning only to find that they have no more boxes and likely won't for awhile! Which means no TV for us! Good thing we're leaving for a month huh?! They also informed me that my cable box costs like $400 which is my responsibility to pay for since Keeghan caused the frying. *sigh* Fortunately the woman had compassion on me and talked to her manager and they waved the fee. They told me to keep my son away from the box! WILL DO!!!
So we are now living in a tv-less house... will we make it for the next 18 hours with no Elmo... no Wow Wow Wubbzy... no Hannah Montana?! Did I mention yet that it's a good thing we're leaving tomorrow?!

hey 18 hours of no tv will make them appreciate the hotel. one more good thing for the hotel, it has tv. yeah. isnt it funny it was 400 and then they waived it, some times that makes me wonder. becuase sometimes I am on the lucky end of getting it waive and once in a while we are not.grrr. so do they charge it or dont they or are they doing it just when they think someone has an extra 400 to spare? or are they usign it for their own office party. hehe
Oh no not fun. Do you have any videos you can pop in for them? Is the Wii all packed up already? And how does a cable company run out of cable boxes? That is the craziest thing I've ever heard of. So if you have no cable box now will they still charge you for the use of a cable box? You know when Joe and I moved into our first apartment for a year we were paying for 6 cable boxes in our tiny one bedroom apartment. What did I know? I was young and never had to pay bills like that before. Then when we were moving and going to return our cable boxes we found out that they were expecting us to return 6 of them when we only had one. Boy was I mad. I asked them where they thought we had all of these cable boxes. We did get reimbursed for those months of payments on those extra cable boxes though and I learned to keep a very close eye on all of my bills.
ah the things kids will do with liquid. I'm so very glad that you were able to not have to pay. That's a lot of money for a replacement.
Hope your trip tomorrow goes well...that ALL goes well.
Too funny!!! Glad they waived that fee - $400 for a cable box! Note to self - keep kids away from satelite box....
Safe travels!
OMGosh! I am so glad you are okay! I have caught Preston trying to plug the end of the laptop charger that goes into the laptop (while the other end was plugged in) into the wall in the large hole piece of the 3 prong outlet. It sure looks like it would have fit too! I caught him just in time. Toddlers are great with electricity aren't they?
Oh boy! I am glad that you are ok!!! And I hope that the 18 hours of no tv go easy!
Wow! Wubbzy! our family loves him too>>
