Drive Thru VENT

OK so this has been bothering me for a long time and I need to know if I'm alone in this. When we go through a drive thru to get food which is OFTEN, the person at the window ALWAYS attempts to hand me my drinks one by one. I always have at LEAST 3 drinks, sometimes 4. WHERE does the person at the window think I'm going to put all these drinks?! Seriously! So inevitably I have to ask for a drink holder and every single time, they roll their eyes at me and sigh. I'm so SORRY to inconvenience them, but REALLY?! What am I supposed to do?! Hold 4 drinks AND drive home?! That's safe! GRR Am I the only one this happens to?

OK vent over. I feel better.

HA!!! I'm sorry, they're doing it because I keep telling them to STOP giving me that darned holder. The whole thing always tip over when we're driving down the road. Besides, I have a gazillion drink holders in my car so that cardboard thing just piles up with the rest of the garbage I have to throw away. The sidecar, now THAT needs a cup holder! LOL

That's so funny, because I'm the exact opposite. I'm usually only getting one or 2 drinks, and they always give me a drink holder and I ALWAYS hand it back. I have a kazillion cup holders in my truck and I don't want that darn drink holder to sit in my car for months like I know it would!

LOL...And just before I sent this comment, I read the comment above me, and we wrote almost the same thing!! LOL

Ha! I thought I was the only one who got annoyed at that! I am glad we are in the same boat. Now if the boat would change and people would use common sense. Ummm...what was that again? Common sense? Or was it common dollars? Ugh!

And this is why I go in instead of through the drive through, hahahahaha. This way I can stand there and check to make sure they have my order right because they usually get it wrong. We went to McDonald's tonight actually and ate there. Kaitlyn got apple dippers but they gave her fries instead. She didn't want me to go fix the problem though. And my chicken sandwich I get with no lettuce, but this time I didn't get my tomato either. I let it slide though. Whenever you complain about stuff you tend to get that look and an attitude. So sometimes it's just not worth it. Now if my sandwich came with lettuce I would have been up there because I hate lettuce on my sandwiches ;). And yes I could just take it off myself, but then I would loose the ever so tiny amount of mayo they put on the sandwich.

I'm with you on this one! My thought is that if I'm ordering at least 4 small or child size drinks, shouldn't they clue in that I'm going to need a drink holder because kids and liquids in a car just don't mix.....if my Suburban full of carseats doesn't clue them in, then the size of drinks I order should!

Just as bad for me when they hand me the drink carrier with two drinks. When I go to hand it back they say sorry once it's touched your hands we can not take it back.

I'm allergic to dairy so I have to order everything with no cheese...you should see the looks I get at Taco Bell, McDonalds, Wendy's, etc. And they always get it wrong! At Taco Bell they pretty much refuse to acknowledge my allergy..."No Cheese?", they always ask with a dazed look on their face when I come BACK in to have them fix their mistake...this happens a lot! On a different complaint; one time I ordered something off the menu at a drive thru and I the answer was, "A grilled steak soft taco? I don't know what that is. I don't think we have those." I READ IT OFF THE MENU, PEOPLE!

I'm pretty sure there's an IQ restriction on drive thru workers. I know that's mean and people are allowed their ditzy moments, but, REALLY? There isn't an excuse for the multitude of "ditzy moments" I've experienced at the many drive thrus in this state!

I'm with you, but I usually am getting milks for the girls so I don't bother asking for the holder. I get tired of the deer in the headlights look because they don't know where one is or how to use it. But when they DO use it, they always put the heavy stuff on one side so it's off balance.

At least your driver's side window goes down so you can retrieve said drinks.................

I have had the exact opposite thing happen to me lately - more than once! Karly & I will drive through sometimes after her appt to get a drink - and even though there are 2 people in the truck, and we only order 2 drinks, they put them in a tray! I always feel so guilty throwing them out, when I didn't even need it.

See we have the opposite problem. We have tons of drinks too, but I HATE cup holders. My drinks always tip over in them. I always hand them right back to them because I would rather stick a few in our cup holders and then hold any left over.

That would be annoying! I have 4 cup holders up front so usually not a problem for me- unless I have crap stuffed into them already! They very rarely have given me a cup holder- maybe twice, and we "drive thru" A lot.

lol, NOW you know why they do. Cause most of us don't want them and have places for them.

Everytime I take the cup holder, it flips in my car!lol
