Getting settled in...

Kennedy and I are here at Shriner's. She had a CT of her head today which went ok. That machine just scares the crud out of her! Now we're just hanging out until morning. It looks like they will be taking Kennedy to surgery at 7am Eastern Time. I am hoping to have internet access while we're waiting, but I just don't know... soooo I set up a Twitter account that I'm going to try to play with tonight... if I get it going, I'll post again. Until then, here's a picture of my sweetie!

Renee, Our daughter, Amber, who was born with Spina Bifida way back in 1977 had spinal fusion surgery done in 1983. I remember the thoracic surgeon saying that she'd be in PICU for 10 days and would go home in a month. Amber had Kyphosis, low hump-back liked curvature)and paraplegic to boot.
Well, ten days later another doctor had to discharge her because her surgeon was at a conference in Mexico! Kids are so resilient, they don't subscribe to the pity party that adults sometimes do after surgery/illness. Kennedy is in my prayers as is the rest of your family. God bless, Jeri mom to Amber,Heather, Hannah and Alex --AHHA! we're done!
ps Just think how far medicine has come in 25 years!

My prayers are with you all tonight, tomorrow and in the coming days and weeks. Jeri is right, kids are so resilient and Kennedy is a strong little girl. God bless your family and especially that sweet little girl.

Many many prayers are heading your way tonight, tomorrow, and beyond. I hope you find a way to fill your time in the waiting room. I find the waiting to be the hardest part, and the hourly updates that just don't tell me enough don't help much. My best advice is to take turns actually sitting there. Get yourself outside for a walk.

Praying for you guys tomorrow morning. Update by twitter when you can. That is such a funny word...TWITTER. LOL. I told Leah I'll have to look into that when we go to Russia, if we ever get to Russia. Sigh.

Sending our love and prayers to you all! Kennedy, wow them like you always do. You will have them wrapped around your cute little finger before you know it and then, before long, you'll be homeward bound to begin putting all this "stuff" behind you.

Oh wow, that's early. Well at least you're already there. Early is probably better. That way she won't be complaining she's hungry. Will they keep you updated on things throughout the surgery? I hope so. I'm probably going to be checking a million times tomorrow for an update. And my like it will happen sometime after 3 when I'm not home ;). Best of luck tomorrow I hope all goes well.

Oh Renee, I just love your pictures of your little sweetie. She's so beautiful, and the pictures of her swimming, so precious. I know how sad you must be that she won't be able to swim anymore. Many prayers going out to you all tonight that the surgery will be quick and successful!
