Kennedy had a pretty good day today, which I was happy about because she had a HORRIBLE night. She tossed and turned all night long and we finally gave her Valium at 6am and then she slept hard until I had to wake her up for PT at 10:00.
She did pretty good at PT, she didn't really want to stand or walk, but she sat unassisted for a long time and even pivoted herself around to get toys and figured out how to catch herself when she leaned forward too far.
This afternoon Frank came up with the kids and we went to hang out in the lounge area. There Kennedy wanted to get out of her chair and she walked a lot holding both my hands. Keeghan has also really started taking off! He's been walking for a couple weeks but now he's walking FAST, stooping to pick up toys and loving every minute of it! :) We came back to Kennedy's room and all the kids watched cartoons together until Keeghan got restless. Kennedy cried when they left :(.
This evening Kennedy asked to walk again and she did GREAT! She finally got brave and let go of one of my hands so we were able to walk laps side by side with her only holding one hand! Everyone was so proud!! :) She of course got some driving time in on her royal chariot as well :). She is now sound asleep and we're praying for a better night's sleep for both of us tonight.
She is still running fevers and the docs still don't know why. Nothing has grown out on her cultures. Tomorrow they are going to repeat her chest x-ray and make sure everything looks ok there. We don't get to leave until she is fever free for 48 hours, which actually I prefer. I like having the nurses and doctors at my fingertips if something happens.
Kennedy will also be getting her first of many post-op CT scans tomorrow. Dr. Samdani is just looking to see how the screws are sitting in her head and make sure everything still looks ok. He agreed to give her some Valium before the scan as just the sight of that CT machine freaks her out. Hopefully the medication will help.
Anyway, I guess that's about it for tonight, thank you all for praying, as always!!

I hope both you and Kennedy have a good night rest and things go smoothly with the upcoming tests. Hugs to all of you and good luck with the little guy running already ;)
I hope she has a much more restful night tonight. So glad to hear that she's sitting up more and moving around more. Must be good to see.
Must have been nice to get all that family time today. I hope Kennedy's CT goes well tomorrow and they can get that fever to go away for good. Is it at least lower now than it had been previously?
Thats all great news. She is really doing well. I think the temp is nothing, she wouldnt be so willing to walk if there were infections going on. I will keep you in my prayers. Blogggy hugs.
I'm so happy she seems to be getting around pretty good. Obviously that makes all of this better. :) I'm so sorry she had a restless night, how pitiful. Praying for a great night tonight, poor Renee, are you just exhausted? How is the roommate situation going?
I've been checking on you every day, Kennedy! I'm happy to hear you had a good day, and I hope you have a really good night tonight, not a horrible one like last night (and your momma, too!)
Way to go miss Kennedy! I love the "princess" story. Asking GOD for a restful night for EVERYONE.
Enjoy the updates--keep us posted.
What meds is Miss Kennedy taking, could her fever be drug induced? Just a thought.
Renee - oh my goodnes, look how good she looks .... and that sweet smile!!! She is one amazing little princess ..... I might can get Rob to look at a pic now :). Prayers continue .... esp. for the fever!
love and hugs,

You, Kennedy and the rest of the family are continuing to be in my prayers.
I hope you both were able to get some quality rest.
By the way, I'm curious how much the halo weighs? Kennedy is so petite in comparison to others I have seen with a halo.
I hope she has an amazing Tuesday.
You are always in our prayers.
What an amazing little girl you have!!! She continues to do so well and we are so proud of her!!! Thoughts and prayers still headed your way for ALL of you!!!!
Hopefully last night brought you both some peace and rest. We are praying for Kennedy to be fever free.

Praying for the test to go well, and NO more fever! hope ya'll got some rest.
I'm praying you all get some rest and the fevers go away. It sounds like she's being such a good sport. I'm just amazed at her strength and yours too!
Oh I feel awful for not being here to pray for Kennedy while she was in surgery. That just shows me how long I've been neglecting my blog. I hope that Kennedy sleeps more soundly with less pain and fevers tonight! =(
I'm glad you had a good day, I'm sure she loved seeing the other kids. Hope all goes well for the rest of your stay!
