Are you an addict?

So are you addicted to my blog? Here's the top 10 ways you might be able to tell...

10. You check this blog first, before showering and maybe even before that first cup of coffee, to make sure everything is ok with Kennedy.

9. You know all the names of The Special Ks and how they got those names and you think their mother is only slightly OCD ;).

8. You will never look at a box of Special K cereal again without thinking about my kids.

7. You're pretty sure Canada exists... but Kameron has you doubting - even if you live there. You know when the 100th Day of School is, you now know what the "S" word is, and you will never EVER touch the sun.

6. You know all of Kennedy's major medical issues... and have even googled some of them.

5. You've posted Kennedy's picture or a prayer request for her somewhere on your blog and/or your church prayer chain... more than once.

4. You know what a "Sincess" is and think of it every time you watch a Disney movie.

3. Your kids include Kennedy in their bed time prayers.

2. You do a google search for "My Special Ks", "Life With My Special Ks", "Kennedy Garcia", "Special K Blog" or some other variation at least once a day.

And the number one way you know you're addicted to this blog?

1. Your husband walks in the door from work and the first thing he asks is "How's Kennedy today?"

Honestly I think it IS the first thing my husband says when he walks in the door. Even the week I was gone camping he would call me with updates on how she was doing.

Hope the trip to PA is going smoothly. Many prayers are with you!

Love this post - mostly cos I'm a relatively new addictee & hadn't read the stories of your kids names. That was great & very creative!
I wanted to do a little creative naming with my twins. Adah's name was already set - it's what Sam would have been had he been a girl. But we were having a hard time with our boy's name. We had a list & I was campaing hard for Benjamin...I just think it's the sweetest name but DH reject it flat out (sigh.) We chose Eli ( & he just is an Eli) but the thing I liked about Ben was that our girl was twin A & the boy was twin B. Adah & Benjamin, A & B 0 ha!
But it wasn't to be & Eli is such an Eli & I can't see him as a Ben at all.
God bless!!

Actually, I wake up the morning, let the dog out, come in side sit down and check on kennedy, Brian comes home from PT, grabs a water and than says " Hows Kennedy doing?" I check on Kennedy before I have my morning smoke, ( yeah yeah im quitting soon) and than I check again mid afternoon for updates!

Guilty as charged.

I'm sure that many of your Indianapolis hits are just me, me, me... me at work, me at home, me on my phone...now that I am writing this I look like a blog stalker. lol.

My girls ask about Kenn e-v-e-r-y single day. :)

Oh and my D, who hopefully won't have another baby for many, many, many years has already thought of another perfect 7 letter K name. Of course it's just random that her first two K's are 7 letters, not directly related to you...but it's another connection. :)

That's great, and you described me perfectly! I am an addict! However, I have no intention of giving up my addiction. I will be readin about the Special K's as long as you continue writing about them!

Ok seriously, I got up this morning and ate some special K and thought about your family. Decided to check in before I did anything but its not bookmarked on my husbands computer so I had to do a google search to find your blog. I think I'm addicted! :)

Okay, I guess I'm pretty addicted. I'm 9 for 10 on your list here ;). I've never googled you, but now you've got me thinking ;). Have a safe flight today!

So do you just want to post my picture along with that entry, or...? LOL! So true! My sister prays for Kennedy too!

I learned about your blog from Downsyn.com because...well it's a long story but years ago I was told during my pregnancy with Aidan that he may have DS and he didn't. I thought maybe God was trying to tell me something about any future kids I might have, and neither of the last two have DS, but I checked out Downsyn every time I was pregnant (I like to be prepared) and basically I still check in because I fell in love with those kids! So... so much for making a long story short LOL!

Are you providing support or meetings for those of us that are addicted?

PS - Great to see your sense of humor throughout this!

Tess said...

ok you got me! I do try to check the blog before taking the boys to school, but because it's so hectic I usually, throw them in the car, do the drop (takes about 45min) then head home, put the kettle on, get your blog up, have my coffee while drinking coffee, THEN I do the housework and shower before heading off to work, when I get home from work, I check your blog again..I dont think there is a cure for this addiction LOL.
Hubby only occassionally asks how Kennedy is BUT the boys ask every day AND now, the addiction has spread to work, I have most of the girls in the tea room asking after her on a daily basis. She's quite the celebrity here in Queensland LOL. (which is probably where SIncess's come to live when they grow up to be Queens perhaps?? LOL sorry couldn't help myself!).
I do smile when I see special K cereal and even have a little giggle when the ads come on TV.AND I will never ever touch the sun and have my doubts about Canada, because if the wise one says it's not there, who am I to disagree!!!
Yes, I have the K bug badly don't I..

Tess said...

hahahah i should read comments before hitting submit..that should be read blog while drinking my coffee, not have coffee while drinking coffee..although, yes, i'm a coffee addict too ROFL

School has started and it's a little crazy around here. You all are ALWAYS in my prayers! Looking forward to hearing about her visit.

Wow...I'm shocked, appalled, and disgusted. Everytime I happen upon your blog (usually when someone IM's me with "OMG you'll never guess how Rene's exploiting Kennedy now!", you tend to surprise me with what you'll do.

The Parker Family said...

Well Ms. Krista I am responding to this hoping Renee is too busy taking care of her daughter to read it today!! People like you really piss me off with you stupid comments.. Renee doesn't by any mean exploit Kennedy she updates her friends who are worried about Kennedy and who CARE about her family. So maybe if you aren't one of them, which by your comment you can't be then keep your butt off of here and tell your friend to do the same!!! Renee has enough to deal with without people like you who don't have anything better to do than b**** about other people~~ Maybe you should get a life~~

(Waving my hand) I am new to your blog, but I enjoy reading about your kids, and I always have to check to see how Kennedy is doing. She is in my prayers during this rough time for her.

Hmmm Krista, how is updating family and friends about Kennedy and all her medical issues exploiting her? That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard! It is quite apparent that you have no clue who or what kind of person Renee is and if you are so offended by her, then find another blog to read! And .. if this blog didn't belong to a Christian woman, I'd find a few other choice words to use!
