WOW I couldn't believe how many responses I got on my Backpack post! There were over 100 responses from grandparents, parents, teachers, and former kids whose lives had been scarred from not getting new backpacks! ;) I got SO many great ideas from how to use the kids old backpacks if I bought new, or donating their old backpacks, or having them use their old backpacks again and donating NEW backpacks and several other fun options!
So, by voter majority of 55 to 46, my kids will not be getting new backpacks right now. (There were also several "undecided" votes!) I broke the news to them (and I blamed it on the poll so I didn't have to be the bad guy! haha) and Kassidy said, "What gives?! I didn't get to voice MY opinion on this subject!" haha Maybe I should have let her blog! ;) They really weren't too upset though. I don't think they'll need to seek therapy years down the road over it or anything... I hope! haha
One of the suggestions I got over and over were the monogrammed LL Bean backpacks that hold up FOREVER. I'm definitely going to look into that... especially since all 4 of the kids share the same initials! It may make a really good Christmas gift for the kids! :)

You're right...you could totally use the same backpack for all 4 children if it held up that long since they have the same initials! How lucky are you?? My son loves his LL Bean backpack...it goes everywhere with him!
My three older kids all have the very same ones too even the middle!
LL beans are the greatest. Jordan actually uses mine that I had in middle school!!!

Hahahahaha, I love Kass' reaction. That was great. I doubt she'll be scarred for not getting a new back pack. They'll survive ;). And hey just think now you can buy them more clothes or school supplies ;).
Boo mama! LOL My friend just got her son the ... I think "junior" ... backpack from LL Bean too. That is my input for the day. LOL
I am laughing because I told you that the kids SHOULD NOT get new backpacks. What did I do? Bought new backpacks because they are so cute and said please! I am such a pushover! Only sometimes! They will use the old ones for outings, etc. They were so cute and thoughtful: they wanted to give their old ones to the kids where my youngest son is staying becaues they were worried some of the kids there might not have one! My heart swelled at that!
