Big mean ole mommy!

So after a frustrating few days with Kennedy I was getting ready to do a blog post saying that all of the sudden she was regressing with her potty training! I was getting SO irritated with her because she was not making it to the potty like 3 or 4 times a day after doing SO well for SO long...

Then this morning she woke up at 6am screaming in pain saying her tummy hurt. I pulled her into bed with me and rubbed her tummy and she eventually fell back to sleep. She was holding her tummy right where her appendix is, which concerned me a little, but I figured if she was able to sleep she was ok. When she woke up she had a low grade fever and about an hour later she went into another screaming in pain episode so I called her pediatrician and got her in. I was telling her that Kennedy was really regressing with her potty training so she decided to get a urine sample (which we no longer have to do by catheter since she can pee on a potty! WOOOHOOO) and she has a UTI! It showed blood and protein and white cells in her urine. Poor kid! So now I feel HORRIBLE for getting frustrated with her!

Anyway, back in 2005 she had some pretty serious kidney issues after a UTI went untreated for 12 days (even though I took her into the Dr. or ER every single day! GRRR) so I'm praying hard that this UTI doesn't put any strain on her kidneys!

Also, she had her monthly hemonc appointment yesterday and everything looks great! Her white count was elevated, but now we know why! AND since we're over the one year mark after chemo we only have to go every 2 months now! Crazy!!!

OK that's all I have to say... I'm off to finish organizing my computer... Oh yeah, I will mention...

ONLY 5 DAYS LEFT! Wooohoooo!!! :o)

Awww don't feel bad UTI's are hard to figure if they aren't complaining of anything especially. I hope she's on the mend quickly and it doesn't effect her kidneys.

Those things stink! I have never had one, but my girls have. My baby is just getting over one after surgery.
I sure hope you little Kennedy is feeling much better tomorrow and her kidneys are fine!!

Blessings,
Carla

You're fine as a mom. You're not meant to be a prophet, only a mom.....

Well glad you caught it, though. If she didn't have any other symptoms at the time there really wasn't any way for you to know she was having problems.
Look to the Lord for strength, whatever the future holds! Oh how I'm praying!
2 Corinthians 12:9-10 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

Don't be to hard on yourself. Carson has had several ear infections that are so bad that the doctor said it looks like his ear drum is ready to burst. Carson has a high tolerance to pain so it may be days before he shows signs. I hope she gets to feeling better soon!

OH poor thing! I hope she gets to feeling better soon!!

Don't feel bad - when I was little I fell off my bike and my mom said to just put ice on it and lay on the couch and it would be fine. HAHA - joke was on her - my arm was broken....

Hope Kennedy is better soon!

I hope she gets to feeling better! I remember when the 2005 thing happened. That was horrible for that baby! Maybe this time since you have dr's that actually care and nurses that aren't accusing you of being a "bad mother" she will be just fine.
