Did you know that in other countries all over the world, there are children with Down syndrome left to die? In many countries, when a child with Ds is placed in an orphanage, they are transitioned to an institution at age Five. Five. FIVE. The same age Kennedy will be in May. If Kennedy had been born in the Ukraine, or in Russia or any other number of countries, she would probably have been given up and she would be getting ready to move to an institution right now. She wouldn't get medical treatment. She wouldn't be taken care of. She would essentially be left to die. Most children who are put into an institution die within the first year. They'll never get a chance to go to Kindergarten, to celebrate a birthday or Christmas, to know the love of a mommy and daddy. Can you imagine? I can't.
Take a look at some of these beautiful, precious kids who are right now in orphanges overseas... kids who WILL, if they're not adopted soon, go to live in one of these horrid institutions... where they WILL die. Then go to The Reece's Rainbow Blog to see even more kids... THEN go to the Reece's Rainbow Website to see what you can do to help. These children don't deserve this. No one does.

I look at these kids all the time and hope that someday I will be able to bring one home. Breaks my heart...
Aww, I think it is awful how other countries treat children ! That second baby in the second row is just too cute , I wish I could bring her(?) home to live with me,everytime I look at the picture I just want to cry she looks so cute and it makes me want to kiss those chubby cheeks !
Ok, coming out of hiding to profess my love for your blog and Reeces Rainbow! I am too young to adopt, , but ONE DAY!!!!
Thanks for blogging!

That is heartbreaking :( i had no idea.
the very first baby is adorable. I always wanted 6 kids :)
OMG! That made me cry! I only wish I had the money for a little girl! I have a new group of kiddos to pray for!!
I just want to bring them all home! We are starting the adoption process again. Doug hates me to see these emails because I want to bring all of them home!! He feels the same way, he just knows we can't take all of them! They are such cuties!
I would so love to adopt one of those adorable DS children. My heart has always been open to adoption, and I've always seen myself adopting a precious child with special needs. But unfortunately, I live in Canada, and don't have RR available to help me with the process...
I wish for families for all of those children before they turn five.
Thanks so much for posting this! If anyone's interested in finding out more I love sharing our journey, it's been such a blessing to us as well as a complete life 180 for both my adopted kiddos!

Those babies are so precious. The one little boy in red looks so unhappy. I wish we could adopt, but we have been turned down because we don't own a home and our income is too low! :(
If I thought J was open to having just ONE more child I would be looking into it in one second. I don't have enough money either but I believe in providence...
Praying for these babies and all the other ones who need homes.

Thanks for posting this! Aren't the Reece's Rainbow children darling? I'm not able to adopt right now, due to Ralph's health issues. But, I'm sponsoring Oleg to build up his adoption grant fund. I hope this will encourage his family to take that leap of faith and commit to him. This month I'm raffling a beautiful custom made handbag - check it out:
