How do you serve?

Operation Serve is something our church, Grace Community does every year to serve Clarksville. Over 900 people from our church picked a team to serve on and go out into our community to serve! One week before the event, we had a huge kick off rally down by the river. It was perfect weather and a fun time to fellowship together and get excited about this project! Here are some pictures from that day: (You can click on it to make it bigger... I think!)

PS. Yes, that is a dad rolling down the hill... but the kids started it!

There were several projects that people could choose from, and I was hoping our church website still had a list up... but I waited too long! HA! There were several projects ranging from packing lunches to building homes! My mom and Kassidy went to a nursing home and gave hand massages and sang songs and just enjoyed spending time with them. They had a lot of fun!

Kameron, Kennedy and I went to the pumpkin patch where we met up with kids and adults with Special Needs who participate in Buddy Ball. We took them around to the different activities and had a nice lunch and just enjoyed getting to know them. There was a young man named Mike sitting at our table and he and Kameron had quite the interesting conversation! LOL I think they were kindred spirits! I'll have some pictures ready from that day soon.

I love that our church looks for ways to serve its community whenever it can! There is a lot of need in Clarksville, and it feels good to be able to give back, have fun and serve the Lord all at the same time! I can't wait until next year!

PS. Any GCC members who would like copies of these pics (or even this montage in full size) feel free to email me.

I love it! I'd love a disk. We could keep them at the church office for prosperity and future use. Thanks for doing this.
