Monday Moment for Down Syndrome

Today's Monday Moment is a little bit different. I want to tell you about this book that one of my readers led me to... The book is called Grown Man Now by Jane Schulz. Here is a description of the book:

Grown Man Now was inspired by Billy, a 52-year-old man who has Down syndrome. Although there is a wealth of information available regarding babies and children with Down syndrome, we believe there are many adults with disabilities who‚ along with their parents, siblings and community advocates‚ might benefit from a forum for sharing solutions, perspectives, and stories. Yes, you will find facts here, but we also hope you will feel moved to contribute your own voice so others may be inspired or even comforted by your experience and wisdom, too.

Jane Schulz became such an advocate for Billy that she ended up going back to college and getting her PhD in Special Education.
