The instructions are easy. Just write a post on your blog about a song. It can be a song that has spoken to your heart during a difficult time... a song that brings back a special memory... a song that makes you want to sing along to the top of your lungs... a song that makes you glad... a song that makes you want to dance... a song that has inspired you... a song that makes you feel like the words were written just for you... a song that makes your soul sing.
You can include the lyrics or maybe include the You Tube video. After you write the post, go to Signs, Miracles and Wonders and link your post to Mr. Linky at the bottom of the page. Then you can read about all the other songs and stories that are posted.
I dread Sunday mornings. I hate it that I dread Sunday mornings. Don't get me wrong, I look forward to church! I look forward to dropping my kids off at their classes, seeing familiar faces, worshipping with the praise team and listening to one of our fabulous pastors deliver a message to us. What I don't love is the rush to get up and ready and out the door. And we go to the late service! Most weeks I leave the house stressed out with pouting children. Every Sunday morning I think, "It won't be this way today." And the devil does his best to make sure it's as horrible as possible. This song by Lori Loza shows that maybe we're not the only family who goes through this. Lord, help me be more patient this week!
True Colors
By: Lori Loza
Sunday morning I woke up late
Laid there in bed too long and sealed my fate
Now if we're gonna get to church on time
My little angels better tow that line
I know I shouldn't yell this way
But I don't have the time to stop and pray.
Chorus:
My true colors are shining through
Help me Lord what am I to do
When You turn up the heat
Then the world's gonna see
My true colors
Get the dishes and make that bed
They look so nervous is it something I said
How could this woman in her curls and frills
Bark like a sergeant in an Army drill?
I finally found my keys, let's go
I only wish I'd found my self control
Chorus
Pull in a parking space
Put on a brand new face
It's time to play my part,
I give my kids a kiss,
They look at me, "Who's this?"
Because they know my heart!
Chorus
Drop the kids off at Sunday School
They're singing something bout the Golden Rule
Slink into church and then I find my place
Where only God sees my guilty face
Oh Lord, there's gotta be a way
Oh won't You help me be like You, I pray
Chorus
