I did last year for the first time...since everyone is getting Thirty-One stuff this year, I will have very little BF shopping to do, but I may go if I wake up early.
Nothing in particular...we're doing Six Flags passes as our main gift. Ryan's list to Santa read: Legos, 3 cats, 2 dogs and 14 hamsters, lol.
I would so love to go .... 2 issues though... money and a baby. Oh well... but I so would go if I could. I used to but I wasn't one of the crazy people that stood in line all night.. I'd go around 10ish
We go every year to Branson Missouri (about 20+ family members) and hit the outlet malls. It is pure crazy. It is a two lane road and they literally have a police office every few hundred feet to direct traffic. It takes about an hour just to go a couple of miles. Why do we do it? I have no idea. This will be year 6 that we have.
We don't have Black Friday here (our Thanksgiving is in October), our crazy-psycho-shopping day is boxing day, the day after Christmas. I do have a few family members that cross the border though to take advantage of some Black Friday shopping, and I think they're all nuts!! Are the deals really worth all that craziness and crowds??
Oh dear... can you even IMAGINE what it's going to be like this year, as bad as it is most years, now with no one having any money? And presented with huge sales? Ugh. I am staying away, far away... except I just remembered we usually go to a tree lighting Friday night that is in the middle of a shopping street. Maybe everything will have died down by then!! Maybe we'll stay home!!
I stood in line outside walmart last year and I'm really not sure it was worth it. I don't think we will go again this year. We might go to a mall if we can find a parking spot I dunno. It means escaping my inlaws for a few so we might go out. Basically I'm undecided!
Some years I totally do it, but this year, I've already ordered the girls' big gifts & have bought or am planning to make gifts for everyone but my dad & FIL. So if I check the sale papers & there's something great for one of them - then I'll go. Otherwise, I'll be sleeping in this year.
I am not a regular black Friday shopper, but I did go last year. My sister got an all-in-one printer and a $5 Christmas tree. I went for cheap replacement word whammers (my dog went through a phase of eating the letters) and razer scooters. We both ended up with said items and Hanes zippered & hooded sweatshirts for the kids. I don't think I'll this year, I don't have anyone to go with and I don't really need or want anything.
YES! I love it. I have been going with my MIL for the past few years and this year I am excited about TruTech 7. dual-screen portable DVD player, $88 at Target. We have been thinking about getting these and now we HAVE to.
I love black friday and have been braving the crowds for some time now. Last year my husband, sister and her boyfriend went through all the ads and decided what we all wanted. Then we divided up the stores and had lists of the things we needed to buy and were up and standing in line by 3 AM. Talk about hard core. I am not sure what I am excited about yet. Dan and I need to still go through the ads and make decisions.
I have gone every year for as long as I can remember, leaving the house at 5am and not returning until after lunch except last year. It was the first one I ever missed cause I was sitting in a hospital room with Ashlyn. I don't think I am going this year either, basically because I have NO money and I just received 2 huge boxes of presents from the LLS for the kids so I think they are set!
Dude, My mom wants to go. She is trying to talk me into going. She thinks it'll be FUN. I'll probably humor her since I'll be home for school and we can make anything FUN!
I went last year, to a big outlet. They had lines outside every door. And it was mucho cold!
My friend from TN & I will be going for the 5th year in a row. Some years there isn't much to get, some years, we have a huge list. But, we plan it out, only go where we need to, and get home quickly. The hubbies stay at home with the (now 6) kids. We almost didn't go again after the 1st year, as then there were only 3 kids, and let's just say there was a flag on a stick, my carpet and fire involved. Nuff said. I don't think there's one big thing to get this year, although we're getting a ride-on for the 2 little ones, and a guitar for Emma, so if those are on sale, woo hoo!! :)
my husband and I love Black friday. We spend a part of thankgiving making our list and checking it twice, planning the route and what time to get up. And get it all done in one day. Love love love it. How about you?
Yeah...I use to do that, but not anymore...people are MEAN!! So I may get up early that day and hit the internet for sales and go through the tons of catalogs I've received in the mail over the last week..they are bombarding me! LOL and the way the economy is, I don't think anyone can call it "black" Friday - everyone is in the "RED"! Mom
I went one year and it wasn't horrible, but then again, I really only went to Old Navy. My theory... why go fight the crazies when I can stay in my PJs and get similar, if not the same, deals online? :)
I am such a scrooge. I HATE shopping. I HATE the crowds. I LOVE the internet. I order 95% of the gifts via free shipping on this wonderful web. A lot of sites had black friday deals last year, and I am hoping the same for this year. If not, it's worth paying full price to not have to deal with all the rude people.
I will have to check out the ads and my names and ideas on my Christmas list. I usually go with my sister in-laws and my mother in law ~ and if you don't have your heart set on anything it's really kinda fun! So we just go for some bonding, good laughs, and a Perkins breakfast!!!
Misti, my Mom and I have gone for several years now (we're hoping Kristi can join us this year). We love it. We get good deals on things and then we go to breakfast after. We have a good system going because we have lots of friends that do it too, so we all go to different stores and buy whatever item for each other. CELL PHONES are our best friend though, because we are in constant communication with each other. This way we get good deals at all the stores by only going to a couple!! Will you go out at all or will you hit the internet like your Mom?
No way, no way, no way! :) I TRY to sleep in (doubtful with a 2 1/2 year old), because my hubby and I are both off work. We spend the day, the 3 of us, decorating for Christmas, eating our mini-Thanksgiving, and just being comfy in our own home, with NO crowds! :) For those of you that do it, and reap the benefits of incredible sales, I applaud you and I am jealous!
LOL!!! Try working in it!!! I work for Guess, and we open at midnight! I LOVEEEE it! It is AMAZING!!!! WE have great deals this year for sure! and A LOT of other retailers are too. Contrary to popular belief, it is estimated that people will spend about 15% more money on black Friday(we call it GREEN Friday because we don't operate in the Red ever(which means bigger crowds) because the deals they are looking for will be there, and EVERYONE needs to save a dollar!I am also going shopping at midnight...looking for a CHEAP Christmas tree....
I am going with my friends. We have a ton of fun. Toys R Us at five oclock in the morning, followed by Target and the mall. Then we have breakfast out and get home by ten. We have so much fun that my friend goes with me even though she never buys anything while we are out!
Stay home unless there is something that is just a great deal and I am needing that something. One year I got up at 3 AM with a friend and did the whole shopping thing....I wasn't impressed :( I saw 2 women fighting over radios and thought "this is crazy, I could be in bed". Last year I did go out with my sister in law but we went out late in the afternoon after the crazy people had gone home. We got some good deals still and didn't have to deal with all the people. I am not crazy about huge crowds of people that are in a crazy mood :) Not sure about where you are but we have lots of those here :(
Well, I like it, but I don't have any money this year to go. I used to work Overnights at W/M, so we knew some of the sale items a little earlier, but we still had to stand in line. I don't mind getting up early, but I hate crowds! LOL
So, whatever I buy, I go other days, and shop early before the crowds.
i can't believe all the people who don't go. i CAN'T go this year, no babysitter for my girlies. last year i took caitlyn with us, she was only two months old and i wrapped her up in our moby wrap and off we went. my mom and sister and aunts and cousins all go. none of us are in a rush to get something and 'take our time' and enjoy the day together. and of course lunch too..usually at red robin. mmm. wish i had that baby sitter!! :0)
I think that no deal is worth the stress of that day! I pretty much shop for Christmas throughout the year and finish up in early December. Planning ahead usually serves me well!
I think Black Friday is over-rated!!! I went last year for the first time. I thought Black Friday was supposed to have killer deals. I bought some things and then watched the prices on those things go down even more as the season progressed! Forget it!!! I like my mornings in bed too much to get up early, go out shopping for something that will be cheaper later on!!! Whatever!

Welcome!
Welcome to my blog where I take on day to day life with my five amazing children: Kassidy, Kameron, Kennedy, Keeghan & Kellsey, and a husband in the Military. Join us as we face issues with Down syndrome, Leukemia, Deployments, and every day life with 5 young kids! You'll be in for the ride of your life!
My name is Renee, I am 34 years old, I am married to the Army... oh wait I mean I'm married to a Soldier, my hero. Same thing right? I am a misplaced Californian who lives in Colorado by way of Tennessee. I am a mini-van driving soccer mom... I always knew I would be! I am blessed to be able to stay home with my 5 amazing kids. Kassidy: my beautiful, too smart for her own good, funny, dramatic 13 year old who is starting her teen years with grace. Kameron: My high strung, smart, artistic, creative, silly, sometimes mysterious 11 year old who loves musical theater and acting. My 8 year old diva, Kennedy: who will most often be found dancing or dreaming of Justin Bieber. She's destined for the stars! Keeghan: my crazy, funny, silly, handsome 5 year old monkey who loves to ask me a million questions all day long; and our 6 year old Ukrainian Princess Kellsey who is finding her way in the world as she battles Reactive Attachment Disorder. Our goal for her is to make sure she knows she is always loved, wherever that may take her... I'm so incredibly blessed.

Definitely stay home! Way too early for me to fight with people ;). Instead I'll probably do some online shopping. Thank God for the internet.

Also, people get so cranky and it makes me sad!

Nope - my Christmas shopping is usually done by Black Friday! I stay home turn my left over turkey into soup.
I NEVER shop on Black Friday and NEVER will! I don't like pushy, mean people just for a good deal.

I'd almost prefer to get a root canal than go shopping on Black Friday. :) So, no, I don't go.
I do like to shop on black Friday but I shop from my computer. No crazy crowds for me.
