Bedroom Talk

(Get your mind out of the gutter!)

As a parent, one of my most favorite things is listening to my kids talk. I love to hear the thoughts that come out of their heads. Tonight before bed we were all sitting around chatting. Here is how our conversation went:

Kassidy: Hey mom, you know how I take the trash out sometimes here?

Me: Yeah.

Kassidy: Well, I was thinking, if it's ok with you... and if it's not ok just tell me... but if it's ok with you I could go to all our neighbor's houses and take out their trash too and they can pay me. Then I can send all the money to some kids in Africa or to one of the kids on Reece's Rainbow.

Me: Well honey, that's a really nice idea, but we don't know most of our neighbors so that would be too dangerous.

Kassidy: Well maybe when I grow up I can donate all my toys to an orphanage or a hospital in Africa.

(Not too sure where the Africa talk is coming from... school maybe.)

Me: Yeah or you could donate them to a hospital here... and you don't have to wait until you're grown up.

Kennedy: I love Jesus!!!

Me: I'm glad baby, I love Him, too. (But that was VERY random! LOL)

Kameron: How old will Kennedy be when we're grown up?

Me: Well that depends, what age is "grown up"?

Kameron: Like... 70 or 20...

Me: 70?! So I'm not grown up yet?!

Kennedy: (folding her hands) Dear Jesus thank you for food Amen!

Me: Amen. (I guess LOL)

Kassidy: I would say like 25...

Me: So I wasn't grown up when I had you or Kameron! haha

Kassidy: OK 20.

Me: OK When you're 20, Kameron will be 18, Kennedy will be 16 and Keeghan will be 13.

Kassidy: Wow you're going to have 3 teenagers at one time. I sort of feel sorry for you, but not really.

Me: Thanks! haha

Kennedy: (insert incoherent babbling here)... and Kassidy's SILLY!

Me: Yes, Kassidy is silly lol.

Me: OK it's time to say our prayers and go to bed.

Kennedy: AWWW!

Prayers, I love yous hugs and kisses and now they're upstairs whispering when they're supposed to be sleeping. I love my kids!

did you guys go to the 2nd service today? I think Kameron was in my class. I was subbing today in Cross Street (and we talked about how Grace sponsors 2 children in Africa) We're taking up donations all month for them, and we talked about ways to be generous this month.

That is so sweet! When I was in the Philippines, bedtime was one of my favorite times with the kids. For some reason, that is when they seem to say the most profound things, not to mention all their hugs, kisses, and "I love you's."

Sounds like Kennedy was hungry! :o)
How funny.
And it finally hit me! My favorite Christmas movie! I didn't think I had one, but I'm watching a version of the Christmas Carol and it hit me. My all time favorite move is Patrick Stewart's Christmas Carol!
Know that I'm always here praying!
Psalms 34:15, 17 The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry. The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.

I love my conversations with my kiddos too. I love how random they can be.....one minute serious and the next silly or how things just come out of no where. They make me smile, laugh and cry. I do love how Kennedy's mind was "all over the place" :) I love this kind of bedroom talk :)

SO sweet! It's amazing what they think of and what comes out. Even at Izzy's age, she says the neatest things and yes, most of the time they are random. LOL!
