So I totally should have posted this yesterday, but I didn't. Obviously. Kassidy had homework over the long weekend to make her own "I have a dream" speech. This is what she wrote:
"I have a dream that one day kids with Down syndrome will be treated equally. They wouldn't be teased. Also they would be able to go to college and get jobs. I have a dream that these special kids could do everything they can and be our friends and we'd never turn them down just because they're different. We should all try to be their friends too. That is my dream."
Yes, I think Kennedy will be in good hands in school next year :).

Way To Go Kassidy! Sounds like you've raised an advocate!
I have a dream that more parents would raise their kids to have a heart like Kassidys!
Way to go girl. I have a similar dream. What a great girl you have there!

I love your speech & I completely agree. I think the people who put downs syndrome people down are just missing out on a lot of fabulous people!

I just "found" your blog tonight. I was drawn to it because of the pic of your beautiful little girl with DS. As I read I couldn't help but get teary. Esp on this post about your dd Kennedys report. I am a 35 yr older sister to a brother with Downs. He is the most incredible little man. I am only three years older and have another bro between us so I totally understand Kennedy's post, and those feelings never go away. I still become very sad when my "bubba" is stared at or made fun of. It still hurts me to my core and I try to educate all I can about the outward differences mean nothing. Your babies are beautiful. THEN, I realized that you are in the process of adopting a sweet little girl. I too am an adoptive mommy.....AND I live in TN. I will be adding your blog to my favs list. You will be in my thoughts from now on. The waiting is so hard. God Bless you and have a wonderful evening.
