Since we've been married, Josh and I go eat at Mr. Gatti's (a *local* pizza buffet that also has lots of arcade games, ski ball, etc.). We are the youngest ones there by about 50 years on Vday. It's great! No pressure, we just put on our jeans and sweatshirts, go eat pizza, and spend some real time together (usually me killing him in ski ball, but whatever ;) It's a tradition we intend to continue forever! This year we're actually double dating with some of our friends!

Every year, around Valentines Day, someone will hide a cute little box filled with those "Sweatheart" candies. Those candies are a must have around our house.

my favorite valentines day was my freshman year in college when my then-boyfriend got me peanut butter cups and hockey tickets. that was a good one.
I love the "the best relationships can't be explained" card.

Hmmm, my favorite part of Valentine's Day would probably have to be making valentine's. We don't really celebrate Valentine's day though since our anniversary is a few weeks later. But it's fun to make valentines with the kids for them to bring to school.

we tried so hard to get pregnant but didnt. finally gave up. Then we went to vegas for valentine weekend for a football conf (for coaches for my hubby) and guess what? What happens in vegas doesnt always stay in vegas (welcome Bridger 9 months later, hehe) I would love to record something sweet about that to my sweet hubby.

I like how people go the extra mile to tell you how they feel. It's almost like you can feel the love in the air. Too bad it doesn't last all year long. People try to be extra nice that one day.

My angel also has Down's Syndrome and we are battling leukemia FOR THE THIRD TIME! More than likely we will be spending Valentines Day in the hospital as we live here now! or at least it feels like it. Our hospital room is already decorated with hearts. Does anyone have any good ideas of something special I could give the nurses on heart day?

My uncle was born on Valentine's Day. Every year as Valentine's Day was approaching my grandfather (his father) would always say the same thing. "Ya know, your grandmother always bothered me about getting her a Valentine's Day present. So I did...After your uncle was born, she never asked for anything on Valentine's Day again." And with that he would laugh and give Grandma a big hug. Gramp has been gone for many years now but I can still hear him laugh and picture him giving Grandma a hug.

I am a crafter and am always excited to get a new crafting tool. One Valentine's Day hubby gave me a new paper cutter I'd been wishing for. Then he sheepishly asked if it was impractical enough to be considered romantic! I assured him it was perfect! I'm still enjoying it years later.

My favorite thing is/was when my daddy would always bring me and my mom home a rose and a big heart box of choc. That is something we miss very much now that he is gone!
Thanks for the chance to win!

I made my way over her via Monica's blog!
My best memory of Valentine's day was of the Valentine's day 1998 when I became an official couple with my now husband. We had the best date I had EVER gone on in my life. And, when I got home, I sat on my mother's bed and told her "I am going to marry this man"
here we are getting ready to celebrate 11 years together. 10 years of marriage this July... and 4 kids later and having lived many places, Valentine's day will always remain the same.. the day I knew part of the plan for the rest of my life.

I love Valentine's Day, when my husband and I did not have kids we enjoyed a nice candlelight dinner together at home. Now with the kids it is even more fun, we make everything we can heart shaped, light heart shaped candles at the table, I Love seeing everyone so excited to help. To me that is love in it's true form. Thanks.

I love Hallmark stores. They are the best for browsing and I can always find that special card for that special person/place/thing. Valentines Day is special for me because it is my sisters birthday. So I am always on the lookout for a Happy Valentines Birthday Card, which are very hard to find, thank you very much. So no matter what I never have to look very far for my special valentine. She is very special to me!

Well, I'll enter because Valentines is just after my daughter's birthday! So my favourite Valentine memory is the one just after she was born. We were still in hospital and my husband brought me the most beautiful Valentine's dinner and gifts since hospital food isn't exactly great lol! He brought me cards from him and the baby! And we had a lovely time! he he All the midwives made sure to tell me how handsome he is and how blessed I was to have him! I had to agree :)

My favorite part of Valentine's Day is that I am no longer an assistant manager of a fancy restaurant! I was fired after a disastrous Valentine's Day night that resembled something off of Gordon Ramsey's "Kitchen Nightmares." Scapegoat I was.

I LOVE trying to surprise my hubby with a gift BEFORE he surprises me. We are pretty competitive!

I always look forward to giving Kevin a crazy gorilla that sings wild love songs each and every year. The best year was when he was a Drill Sergeant and I delivered the tackiest balloon bouquet and the crazy ape to him and the 1SG made me present it to him in front of everyone. I loved it and so did he. When he came home I asked if he got teased and he said yes but only cuz everyone else was jealous, LOL.

My most Memorable Valentines day was the surprise I rec'd when I was in the 5th grade. I don't even want you to know how long ago that was, but a boy in my class, "Gary White" (can U believe I still remember his name?) gave me a tiny china tea set and a BIG valentine with a heart on it. I was the envy of all the girls in Mrs. Hemphill's class! Great memory!!

I just found your Blog.
Beautiful children! I've signed on as Follower and look forward to tagging along on your life. Please stop by my Blog and say "Hello" some time!

Our family (my two sisters, mom and my kids and I) LOVES See's Candy Co's Hot Hearts. We always try to make sure everyone has at least one bag a piece. They are like large heart shaped jelly beans that are HOT cinnamon flavored. I sent different candies to my son last year when he was in Iraq, but he kept the Hot Hearts for himself. he he he

I love Valentine's day because I FINALLY have a Valentine! I waited 38 years to have a valentine! Some things happend in my growing years and I never dated until I finall healed enough and met Bobby and he treats me like a queen! :) He was so patient with me and still is and I use to hate valentines day except for Reeces Peanut Butter Hearts! lol but I hated the day because I was always so sad but NOW I have Bobby and I am not alone anymore. Bobby had to wait 49 years to find his valentine. He is 12 years my senior. he had dated over the years though but just never found the right one. I have no clue what if anything he will do for me this year but just having him is enough :)

One of my favorite things about Valentine's day is that I tell my kids that I get a kiss & hug whenever I want one. They usually comply, though the 10-year-old sometimes needs some encouragement (tickling) to join in on the fun.

My favorite Valentines Day was last year, my first with my now-husband. I was in the US and he was in Afghanistan, but he managed to get a call to his mother, who got a call to one of my co-workers at the time (in a different state from his family), who called another co-worker who's wife was starting a flower delivery business and sent me the most beautiful arrangement I have ever seen! (Not that I'm biased) I had no expectations, given that he was in Afghanistan and he hadn't even been able to get a call or email out in a while, I didn't want to get my hopes up so when my co-worker called me away from my desk to give me the arrangement I thought it was from the people I work with (since everybody figured my soldier wouldn't get to send anything). When I read the card showing it was from him I almost passed out! I just kept saying "What?? How? Wait..what? Did you guys just send this?" The only way I believed it was actually from him is that he used my nickname that only he uses. It was the greatest because it was so unexpected and involved so many people (it really was him, to his mother, to my co-worker, to another co-worker, to his wife in 2 different countries and 2 different states)! This year we are most looking forward to not only our first Valentines as a married couple but our first in the same country! :)

To start out I just want to tell you how awsome you blog is!! My mother (Jacki) has started her own blog and this has led me to yours!! I have grown to adore your family and feel as if they are part of mine now. As for valentines day - well I believe the best thing about it is my husband. His name is Phillip and he is the love of my life. I cant imagine my life without him. We usually dont do much for valentines day because his birthday is the 4th valentines day is the 14th and our 10 year anniversary is coming up on the
19th. So we kinda celebrate it all at one time. And being the parents of a 13 year old son (lord please take the mothers curse off me)it turns into being more about him and his girlfriends rather than about us. But needless to say the love is still there under the pj's and a bowl of ice cream during American Idol, that look he gives me from across the room is priceless. I guess you could say valentines day for me is everyday!! With a love like that it is bound to last forever!

Thanks,
