Question of the Day #24

What are your most and least favorite activities to do with your family?

With our own two hands

This video montage was created by one of the Vanderbilt moms. Her son, Chase Donnell, passed away from stupid cancer. She is still fighting the fight to see change for the rest of our kids... she is fighting in Chase's memory for a cure. The montage is great, and it even includes a little sincess and a few other kids I've talked about here on the blog! :o) Thanks Jennifer, for a great reminder!

Typical boy!

Keeghan has been having fun learning his body parts. He loves to point out our eyes, ears, head, nose etc. Today we were playing the "Where Game". It went a little like this:

Me: Keeghan, where is your head?

K: (points to head) haaaaaad

Me: Where is your eye?

K: (jabs himself in the eye) eyyyyyeeeeeee

Me: Where's your nose?

K: (points to nose) boooogh (I don't know WHY he says it like that!)

Me: Keeghan, where is your mouth?

K: (points to his mouth) EAT!!!!

Around the blogosphere...

I'm here on my blog to direct you all away from my blog! ;)

First, let me send you to Praying for a Miracle. This blog is run by my friend Sara. We've been friends since we were in high school when we met at camp and our friendship grew from there. She and her sister were in our wedding as bridesmaids. We lost touch for a few years and I have been so thrilled to be able to reconnect with her through facebook. Knowing and loving Sara meant knowing and loving her whole family. Her parents and siblings are wonderful people and they just radiate God's love. Sara and her family will always hold a very special place in my heart.

Sara's mom, Pat, is currently battling breast cancer for the second time. I won't bother mentioning how I feel about cancer since you've heard it a million times on here, but I will ask you to visit and pray. Even through this trial you can still see the Lord working in their lives. Please pray for a miracle for Pat!

When you're back from visiting Pat, go visit my friend Christina. Her daughter Kallie has Down syndrome and diabetes and is having insurance issues. Her insurance company is totally screwing her over and she's not too sure what to do about it. So pop over, read the dilemma and see if you can leave some advice. Someone here must have either been through something similar or maybe you work for an insurance company and can help?

Want to win an iPod Touch? Seriously, Frank and I LOVE ours! Even if you have a different kind of iPod, it just doesn't compare to this thing! Watch movies, listen to music, hold 100s of pictures, play games, surf the web! Seriously, you can read blogs from ANYWHERE with wifi! If you can't get an iPhone, this is the next best thing!

Every $10.00 you donate is another chance to win! In addition to a chance to win an iPod you will be helping to bring this sweet boy home to his forever family!
Click on Jacob's button to go to their blog!

Back? OK! Next I'm sending you to my friend Shannon. Her son Tristan was a preemie and has jumped many hurdles throughout his life and now she is doing the March of Dimes walk and is looking for sponsors. Hop on over and meet Tristan and Shannon and donate if you feel led!

Well, I guess that's it! Happy Clicking!

Wilma Rudolph

If you live in or have ever visited Clarksville, Tennessee you have most likely driven down Wilma Rudolph Blvd. It's one of the main drags in Clarksville. It holds our really pathetic mall, tons of restaurants, and lots of other little businesses, including of course a Wal-Mart (because we have FOUR here for some weird reason!).

For Black History month, Kassidy's teacher handed each child the name of a person who made the history books. I was excited to see that Kassidy was assigned to Wilma Rudolph especially when I found out another kid got Obama. Until this past week I knew that Wilma was an Olympic runner and I knew... oh wait, that's ALL I knew!

So now I will share mine and Frank's Kassidy's project with you, so you too can learn about Wilma Rudolph.

Kassidy did all the leg work. She read the book, she wrote down all the facts, Frank and I just made it look pretty. Hopefully she'll get a good grade on it!

SO now can we say my blog is educational?!

The name game and the auction

I've had fun reading your answers for the name game! I decided to do the kids names:

Kassidy would be Katherine
Kameron would be Kaiser
Kennedy would be Keira
Keeghan would be Kenneth
Kellsey would be Kennedy! hahaha Cracked me up!

Frank would be Fred! ROFL Anyone think he looks like a Fred?!
My mom, Jackie, would be Jade

So if we ever go into the witness protection program... remember these names! HA!

We have gotten SO many amazing items for the silent auction!!! Thank you all so much! There is still time to donate, if you'd like! If you've emailed me about it today, and I haven't gotten back to you, I will! I'm working on that now! I am working to get it all set up and hopefully we can launch in 2 weeks! How long do you all think it should run? One week, 10 days or two weeks? I am putting a poll on the left side of my blog, so please go vote!

We also have an AMAZING raffle coming up donated by one of my blog readers. It's totally awesome!!! Wait till you see what it is!!! :o)

OK that's it for now!!!

If you were different....

I love the name Reagan! Cute!

If You Were Slightly Different, Your Name Would Be: Reagan

Ooooh, catchy!

Q&A #62

Was Kennedy scared of the Monster's of Monster's Inc.? She has this "Momma, the guys are going to eat me!" look. =]
Nah! she really wasn't scared of any of them. She loved the furry ones best though because she could cuddle! LOL

By the way, who's the green dude?
That would be one of the toy soldiers from Toy Story. LOL They were walking all over the park!

So how many WEEKS were you gone?! It doesn't seem physically possible for you to pack all these things into those few days you were gone!
LOL I know! We DID get a LOT accomplished!!!

And I thought Ryan Seacrest was a blond?
Well he used to have highlights or something, I think!

Wow, so everyone moved! Sounds like a big moving day. So no more playroom then? I thought you would end up making the boys room the playroom or something. So when you bring Kellsey home will she then bunk in with the girls or will you put her in your "dressing room"?
Nope, no more playroom, but the kids rooms are big enough to hold all their stuff now. I need to get pics. When Kellsey comes home she will go in with the girls downstairs.

I too think the 'dressing' room is way too cool. So EVERYONE's clothes are in the dressing room???
Not quite yet, but when we finish organizing, that is the plan.

Of course, do we really have 337 things in our bathroom??
I don't think I do! LOL My Nonnie, however, just might! :)

He (Ryan Seacrest) didn't try to hit on your husband did he?
He's not gay. Despite what my husband thinks! LOL You'll never convince me!

DANG! Don't they have snacks at school????
Guess not! He had a sub that day. I have a feeling if his real teacher was there she would have had something for him ;o). Still though, if he says he wants to eat breakfast at school he needs to do it... or not whine about it! haha

Do you know that he was with a substitute this morning? I don't know him well enough to know if that was a good sub trick or not?? Just thought I'd pass on that info.
That VERY well could have had something to do with it!

All I'm going to say is didn't you say on Monday to me "What's Breakfast"?! LOL!!!
Well... I meant that more for ME! LOL

I remember the first time we met you in Nashville,[[Momma almost ran over you at Sticky Fingers!]] we went to Starbucks, and Kameron was sitting next to Becca and stared to scrape Becca's arm with and coffee stirrer.
"What are you doing Kameron?" "I'm wiping the sprinkles off your arm." "Kameron, those are freckles, not sprinkles!" LOL :):)

LOL! I remember that!!!! He's a silly kid!

all I can say is "oh great... is this what I have to look forward too?"
Oh yes... and SO much more! It's fun! LOL

Although, I suppose that makes it difficult for changing and bath time ;). So he doesn't even want them off to go in the tub?
Oh no, he LOVES bath time and has no problem stripping down to get in! LOL

So, completely unrelated, how do you make your links not look like links but words instead?
OK so when you're typing a post, if you want to enter a link, use the 3rd icon over at the top of your message screen. It looks like a globe with a little chain link. It will ask you for the link, put it in and then before the closing code which looks like this: < /a> you can type in the words you want so your links look like this and not this: Clear as mud?

You had **8** turtles???
Yep! That was pre-children. The turtles all had J names. This probably doesn't surprise anyone! LOL

Nunca han tenido un perrito?? solamente tortugas?...
English: You've never had a dog? Only turtles?

Nope no dogs! We've rented forever and they always say no pets except water pets and the turtles were water turtles. Kam is afraid of dogs anyway. Kennedy and Keeghan however LOVE dogs, so one day, when we own our own home, we will probably get one :).

How is she going to handle you checking her blood sugar, I'm assuming you'll be using a portable glucometer with lancets? I'm sure it's nothing compared to what she's been through in the past though.
Yes, I have a glucose meter still from when I had gestational diabetes with Keeghan. What I DIDN'T know was that strips expire! I got the meter all ready this morning, pricked Kennedy's finger and then the strips wouldn't work! oops! We got a prescription called in from her ped's office and I picked those up tonight so we'll try again tomorrow. Fortunately Kennedy didn't even bat an eye when I pricked her finger. She rocks!

Do you have to prick her finger? I had to test my blood sugars when I was pregnant with CJ and I definitely couldn't imagine pricking one of my children's fingers like that and then getting the drop of blood to go into the testing strip. I hope it's not too difficult to do.
Yeah, I had to do it when I was pregnant with Keeghan too. Fortunately Kennedy doesn't mind... if it were one of my older 2 kids, I'm sure it wouldn't go over well! haha I only have to do it first thing in the morning too, which is good!

Yay! for good counts! Do you still go every other month to oncology? Won't it be nice when we can go just once or twice a year?!!! We won't know what to do with all the free time!
Yep, every other month. On one hand I can't WAIT to go less and less, on the other, I like the security of them checking her counts and just making SURE everything is ok, KWIM?

While not exactly crafty, I can donate a Mary Kay Timewise Miracle set (cleanser, moisturizer, day solution, and night solution) and 2 step microdermbarasion set.
Sandy, that would be great! Can you email me? I don't have your email address. Thanks!

I was wondering if you were still doing Necklaces to raise money also? I was thinking about getting one of those, and I never got around to it, so I figured I might as well ask while I was thinking about it.
Oh yes! Order whenever you're ready!

That was so cute. How fast can you perform those moves???
Uhhh I honestly haven't tried... and I probably won't! LOL

Confessions of a 4 year old Drama Queen

Kennedy has now been promoted from Drama Sincess to Drama QUEEN! After school today she, Keeghan and Kameron were upstairs in the boys room playing with Kameron's million plastic zoo animals. At one point we heard Keeghan start to cry. Hard. He came to the stop of the stairs crying, "O ot a owie" (I got an owie). Sure enough, he had blood all over the lower half of his face. Kennedy had thrown a zoo animal at him, hit him in the lip, and put a nice little slice in it. *sigh*

I cleaned Keeghan up and he ran off to play. Not five minutes later Kennedy comes downstairs crying and holding her eye. She said, "My eye hurts... animals NAUGHTY!" Kameron's version of that is that she threw an animal into the air and it came down and hit her in the eye. After Keeghan's bloody lip, I had a hard time feeling sorry for her. I checked her out, made sure she was ok, and sent her on her way.

A few minutes later she came down with one of her doll blankets wadded up against her eye. She came over and whined, "My eye HURTS!" I looked at it again, it was red, but fine. Seeing she was getting no sympathy from me, she moved onto daddy. "Daddddddyyy," she sobbed. "My EYE!" He replied, "You'll be ok." Seeing that daddy was an unsympathetic source, she moved onto Keeghan. Yes, the kid whose lip she just bloodied less than an hour before.

"Keeghan," she whined, "My eye! An OWIE!" Keeghan looked at her, patted her hand, and said, "Owie?" Kennedy nodded. "Yes! OWIE! My EYE!" Keeghan kissed her hand and said, "Ut oh!" Ahhh sympathy. Oh but that didn't quench her need! Kennedy then went over to Kameron. "My eye hurts, Kameron!" Kameron was busy doing his own thing and said, "uh huh". Not getting the response she wanted, Kennedy said, "I need a HUG!" Kameron said, "No thanks." I said, "Kam, give her a hug!" So he did... begrudgingly.

Kennedy then moved onto her next victim sibling. "Kassidy!" She sobbed. "I gotta owie! My eye HURTS! I need hug!" Kassidy, being the original drama queen loving big sister she is, gave her a hug, kissed her eye and said, "Poor Kennedy, are you ok!" SUCCESS! Kennedy got what she wanted! So she cuddled with Kassidy for a few minutes and then came over to me and said, "MOMMY! LOOK! I did it!" and showed us her eye. "What did you do Kennedy?" I asked. "My eye!" said Kennedy, "Right HERE!" OK. "Does it feel better?" She thought about this for a minute. Looked around to see us all watching her and emphatically stated: "NO!"

Anyone want to come kiss Kennedy's eye and make it all better?

Potty Training Giveaway

Are you potty training? If you've been following my blog long enough you will know that I hate potty training. I detest it. Seriously. Thankfully Kennedy's potty training is done (except for at night) and, while I should be diving into it with Keeghan, I haven't gotten motivated enough to do so. I'm on a potty training break. YES!

However, I know that many of you out there are in the throes of potty training. Have you seen this video?

I'm not exactly sure I would want my kid doing this dance... at least in public! Keeghan LOVES the video though and we've watched it about 100 times today. Who knows, maybe I'll start potty training him soon after all!

I've found that you have to find the humor in potty training. My most favorite story is when I was potty training Kassidy. She was absolutely refusing to go on the potty. She would hold it all day if she had to. I tried EVERYTHING. Begging, bribing, you name it, I tried it! Just as I was about to give up, we were planning a trip to Disneyland. I told Kass that if she wanted me to buy her toys at Disneyland we couldn't buy diapers anymore. We didn't have money for both. Viola. She was potty trained. Day and night. Booger. I knew she could do it!

Fast forward a month or so, and we're at Disneyland. We went into a store and I handed her a $10 bill and told her that was her diaper money and she could buy anything she wanted. She picked out a book that played music and took it to the cashier. She handed the cashier the money and said, "My mommy can't buy me diapers anymore because I'm using the money to by THIS book." Nice. That'll teach me!

Do you have your own funny potty training story?
I was contacted by the Kimberly-Clark company who makes Huggies and they are having a contest. The best potty training nightmare story wins a 6 month supply of pull ups and wipes! That'll buy a lot of books from Disneyland! Go enter the sweepstakes here!

But WAIT! There's MORE!
The Kimberly-Clark people have also offered ONE free package of Pull-ups to a lucky reader here on my blog! All you have to do is leave me a comment telling me your LEAST favorite thing about potty training! Come on, this should be my easiest giveaway EVER!!!

I will choose a winner from one week from today! Happy Potty Training!

Kennedy medical update

Kennedy had her bi-monthly appointment at the oncology clinic today and her counts came back GREAT! We don't go again until April. She finally broke 28 pounds! In fact, last time we went she was 26 pounds so she apparently skipped 27 altogether! haha AND she's grown! She was 33 1/2 inches before and now she's a little over 35 inches! YAY! Hopefully the growth spurt will continue and maybe she can MAYBE catch up to a typical almost 5 year old. OK maybe not. HA!

We have been a little concerned about Kennedy's blood sugar, it seems like if she doesn't get sugar first thing in the morning (even natural sugar like orange juice) she gets really weak and whiny and doesn't feel well. The last time this happened she could barely hold her own head up. Once we got sugar into her, she perked up and was back to normal quickly.

I talked to the doctor about this today and she checked her records. In October 2007 and again in September 2008, Kennedy was hospitalized for being really lethargic and non-responsive. She saw today that during both of those hospitalizations her blood sugar was low. They instantly put her on IV fluids which perked her up and we never left with a reason for either of those illnesses. Something like hypoglycemia would definitely explain them. (The other thing that was low in both these instances was her bi-carb and I'm not sure how that would play into all this.)

SO for the next week I am going to check her blood sugar every morning and record it. If it's continuously low, we're off to see an endocrinologist. Fortunately, hypoglycemia is easier to treat than diabetes, it's really controlled by diet, but it could become an issue if she stopped eating (which is part of the reason she ended up in the hospital in 10/07 and 9/08) or if she was NPO (nothing by mouth) for a surgery or something. SO it will be interesting to see how her sugars are for the next week.

Anyway, I guess that's about it for the Sincess! Short and sweet, just like her! :)

Question of the Day #23

What is your biggest fear or phobia?

Monday, February 23, 2009

Keeghan is well on his way to being two. Things that never really bothered him before now make him meltdown into a puddle of tears. In just a little over 2 months I will have a full fledged two year old. Scary.

The latest of Keeghan's quirks is his shoes. He wants them on. All. The. Time. I think that he knows that if his shoes are on we could possibly be leaving the house on a moment's notice, and he loves to leave the house. He doesn't care where we go as long as we're out and about, especially on the day that Kennedy has school. SO I put his shoes on this morning when we had to take food to Kameron and he refused to take them off after we got home. As the afternoon wore on I tried to remove his shoes again and he threw a fit. Again. So I left them on. Finally it was bed time, I changed his diaper and tried to distract him while I took his shoes off. He wailed "NOOOOOOOO!!!! SSSOOOOOOOOS" *sigh* And just when I thought all hope was lost and I was going to have to let him sleep in his shoes he got distracted by his sing sing (that would be a guitar to us boring folk) and he forgot about the shoes! YAY!

Who wants to bet I have this same battle every night for months and months? Two is great, isn't it?!

It's been one of those days...

Monday Moment for Down Syndrome - I am the Child

Over the last 4 years I have collected MANY poems and stories about Down syndrome and special needs in general. Since a lot of my readers have kids with special needs, I thought I would post one poem or story every Monday. Chances are you'll find one you've never heard along the way!

Author Unknown

I am the child who cannot talk. You often pity me, I see it in your eyes. You wonder how much I am aware of -- I see that as well. I am aware of much -- whether you are happy or sad or fearful, patient or impatient, full of love and desire, or if you are just doing your duty by me. I marvel at your frustration, knowing mine to be far greater, for I cannot express myself or my needs as you do.

You cannot conceive my isolation, so complete it is at times. I do not gift you with clever conversation, cute remarks to be laughed over and repeated. I do not give you answers to your everyday questions, responses over my well-being, sharing my needs, or comments about the world about me. I do not give you rewards as defined by the world's standards -- great strides in development that you can credit yourself; I do not give you understanding as you know it.

What I give you is so much more valuable -- I give you instead opportunities. Opportunities to discover the depth of your character, not mine; the depth of your love, your commitment, your patience, your abilities; the opportunity to explore your spirit more deeply than you imagined possible. I drive you further than you would ever go on your own, working harder, seeking answers to your many questions with no answers. I am the child who cannot talk.

I am the child who cannot walk. The world seems to pass me by. You see the longing in my eyes to get out of this chair, to run and play like other children. There is much you take for granted. I want the toys on the shelf, I need to go to the bathroom, oh I've dropped my fork again. I am dependant on you in these ways. My gift to you is to make you more aware of your great fortune, your healthy back and legs, your ability to do for yourself. Sometimes people appear not to notice me; I always notice them. I feel not so much envy as desire, desire to stand upright, to put one foot in front of the other, to be independent. I give you awareness. I am the child who cannot walk.

I am the child who is mentally impaired. I don't learn easily, if you judge me by the world's measuring stick, what I do know is infinite joy in simple things. I am not burdened as you are with the strifes and conflicts of a more complicated life. My gift to you is to grant you the freedom to enjoy things as a child, to teach you how much your arms around me mean, to give you love. I give you the gift of simplicity. I am the child who is mentally impaired.

I am the disabled child. I am your teacher. If you allow me, I will teach you what is really important in life. I will give you and teach you unconditional love. I gift you with my innocent trust, my dependency upon you. I teach you about how precious this life is and about not taking things for granted. I teach you about forgetting your own needs and desires and dreams. I teach you giving. Most of all I teach you hope and faith. I am the disabled child.

Around 9:00 this morning I got a call from the school nurse at Kassidy and Kameron's school. They were both fine and healthy when they left this morning so my heart dropped a little. Turns out Kameron was HUNGRY. Starving even! He told the nurse he didn't have breakfast. Hmmm

Kameron likes to eat breakfast at school. Every morning when he gets there he goes to the cafeteria and eats. Today he said he didn't FEEL like eating, so by 9:00 he was starving. That's my problem HOW?! *sigh* I asked him if he could just make it to lunch and he started crying, "NO I'm soooooooo hungry!" SO I grabbed some peanut butter and crackers and some apple juice, got Keeghan out of his crib, and off to school I went. Tomorrow he better eat breakfast. That's all I'm saying.

Stupid freaking phone!!!

This is my phone. It's a wanna be iPhone. I hate this phone. Seriously. I got my first one the beginning of August, and it wasn't working right. I can't really remember what it was doing but I do remember that once it started ringing and wouldn't stop! It wouldn't let me answer, turn it off, nothing. I took it back and they gave me another one. Thank God.

Fortunately that one seemed to work ok except for the fact that they put the stupid mute button right where your cheek hits. On a touch screen phone. SO when you cradle the phone on your shoulder, it mutes your caller. Not really ideal for a multi-tasking mama! I'm taking it that the genius who designed it didn't have kids.

Slowly I got to like the features of my phone. They have a cool live search thing where it locates you with a GPS and then you can say something like "pizza" and it will show you every pizza place close by. They also have a movie app where you can look up the theaters near you and get movie names and times and even the plot if you wish. There's a weather app where you can see a weather forecast anywhere in the world. Then of course there is email and web and music and tons of other stuff.

Just as it was raking me in, a few days ago my phone went nuts. Completely nuts. I will be talking on the phone and it will go to a dial tone. It doesn't hang up though because the other people can still hear me. If I'm sending a text message it starts putting in random letters or just deleting what I wrote completely. I can only call people in my call history, can't answer incoming calls most of the time, don't get most of my incoming text messages and can't access my voice mail. My email works occasionally but will delete emails at random, and it usually jumps to other screens. The weather, movie and live search functions? Forget about it! GRRR

SO the other day we took my phone into the Sprint store who told me I had to go to a different Sprint store to see a tech. The tech did a system update and said that should fix it but if it didn't to bring it back to ANY store to have it replaced. It didn't work so this afternoon we went to the first Sprint store who told me I had to call the insurance people about it and they would mail me a new one. The insurance people told me that they only replace it if it's been damaged; for a malfunction we have to take it to the Sprint store. Seriously.

SO sometime tomorrow I will go BACK to the Sprint store and beg for a new phone. I have such a love/hate relationship with technology! Sprint is SO getting fired after my contract expires. I can almost see me talking on my REAL iPhone!

If Laurie, Linda, Elizabeth and Barbara go out for lunch, they will call each other Laurie, Linda, Elizabeth and Barbara.

If Mark, Chris, Eric and Tom go out, they will affectionately refer to each other as Fat Boy, Godzilla, Peanut-Head and Scrappy.

When the bill arrives, Mark, Chris, Eric and Tom will each throw in a $20 , even though it’s only for $32.50. None of them will have anything smaller and none will actually admit they want change back.

When the women get their bill, out come the pocket calculators.

A man will pay $2 for a $1 item he needs.

A woman will pay $1 for a $2 item that she doesn’t need, but it’s on sale.

A man has five items in his bathroom: a toothbrush, shaving cream, razor, a bar of soap, and a towel from the Marriott.

The average number of items in the typical woman’s bathroom is 337. A man would not be able to identify most of these items.

A woman has the last word in any argument.

Anything a man says after that is the beginning of a new argument.

Women love cats.

Men say they love cats, but when women aren’t looking, men kick cats.

A woman worries about the future until she gets a husband.

A man never worries about the future until he gets a wife.

A successful man is one who makes more money than his wife can spend.

A successful woman is one who can find such a man.

A woman marries a man expecting he will change, but he doesn’t.

A man marries a woman expecting that she won’t change , and she does.

A woman will dress up to go shopping, water the plants, empty the garbage, answer the phone, read a book, and get the mail.

A man will dress up for weddings and funerals.

Men wake up as good-looking as they went to bed.

Women somehow deteriorate during the night.

Ah, children. A woman knows all about her children. She knows about dentist appointments and romances, best friends, favorite foods, secret fears and hopes and dreams.

A man is vaguely aware of some short people living in the house.

Any married man should forget his mistakes. There’s no use in two people remembering the same thing.

Pictured out!

I still have a bunch of pictures to share with you from the Village, but I have lost my editing momentum! LOL SO you get a break until I get back in the mood!

Things are good here. Frank and I switched everything around in our house yesterday. As it was we had the boys in the smallest room, which really only Keeghan slept in because Kameron said there were too many shadows on the wall. *sigh* SO he's been camping out in the slightly bigger bedroom with the girls. Kassidy has a day bed so Kam slept on the trundle. He's been in there for over a year.

SO, we changed our basement/playroom into the girls bedroom. It's HUGE! They have such a cool room full of their stuff and even a sitting area with a couch and TV and a karaoke machine that they never use. haha

We moved the boys into our master bedroom because we needed to have room to put all the rest of the toys that we moved out of the playroom. Once we moved our bed and all of the dressers out of there we realized how big that room is too! It now holds Kam's bunk beds, Keeghan's crib and a ton of toys. Frank and I moved into the girls old room which is smaller than our old one but not by too much, and really, we're only in there to sleep so we don't need a big room.

THEN we turned the boys' old room into our dressing room of sorts. It holds all our dressers and wardrobe closets and stuff so I no longer have to put clothes away in 10 different places. I think I'm going to LOVE it!

SO all that to say we've been busy, and we're tired. The kids love their rooms though and all 4 went to sleep with no problem tonight! YAY! This is the first time Keeghan has ever gone to sleep with the door open. He didn't seem to mind, and Kam saw no shadows. I would show you pictures of all this but then I'd have to upload... and edit... and well... I'm pictured out! LOL I try to get some soon!

What kind of pajamas are you?

You Are Flannel Pajamas

You seek comfort above everything else. You rather feel good than look good.

You are a very relaxed person, especially when you're surrounded by your favorite things and people.

You are a homebody. Home is the place where you can truly be yourself.

You are likely to wear pajamas a lot. In fact, you often change into your pj's the minute you get home!

So there's this contest on this blog for these really cool canvasses! She said she needs 25 entries to do the giveaway, SO go check it out and enter! They're really cute and would be perfect for a kid's room. Let's blow her 25 entry goal out of the water! Check out her blog while you're there! It looks fun! :)

Sometimes, You Just Gotta Laugh

Q&A #61

Loving all the pics! Keeghan and his Wubbanubs! He is definitely attached, isn't he? I'm sure there
Yeah... that's not going to be pretty. I shudder to even think about it. He can go to college with Wubbanubs, can't he?!

Did you get the same priviledges at Universal that you got at the disney parks?
Oh yes, they were GREAT there!!! We got the same at Sea World too!

Is it me or is that spiderman picture totally adorable? He looks all pensive and sad and she's totally like "it's ok spidey, the sincess is here"
I'm telling you, Spiderman LOVED her! LOL He spent more time with Kennedy than he did with Kameron!

Did you tell Kass to do that thing where she crosses her legs when she stands for photos? or did she pick that up on her own? It's so cute! It makes her look old!
LOL nope! She just started doing that all on her own! I think it's cute too.

Y la foto con el Grinch..??? Kennedy tiene una expresión muy graciosa!!
English: And the photo with the grinch..??? Kennedy has a very funny look on her face.

I know! LOL She was just being silly but it looked like The Grinch scared the wits out of her! LOL

DJ just said hey nenndy is dressed like the sincess that came to my school on Friday. He wants to know if she was in Land Far Far away.
LOL I guess she kind of does live in a land far far away!

Aww sweet Kassidy, she looks like such a great big sis, was she a little jealous that she couldn't be made up like a princess? I know she's older, but I think I still would have liked that at her age.
Actually I offered several times to have her get her hair done too but she didn't want to... She struggled with that decision though. I think she is at that age where she's not sure if she wants to be little or big.

LOL - I admit it I'm old and have no clue who those characters are?! Kennedy sure seems to like them though!
LOL Those would be from Playhouse Disney. The first 2 are from the show Little Einsteins (not sure of their actual names since we don't watch that much), the next one is Jo Jo and Goliath from Jo Jo's Circus and the guy below that is Handy Manny (his last name just happens to be Garcia!) The guy below him... well... you probably know who he is! LOL

Ya know, they do say that Ryan Seacrest is everywhere at once! LOL! Apparently it's true?!
I guess so! LOL Frank and Kam were just walking through the park and saw a huge crowd of people and all these little teenagers screaming "Oh my gosh!! It's RYAN!" and so they went to get a closer look and made someone take a picture. I'm only a lot a little jealous! ;o)

Kam looks so thrilled to meet Ryan. Not. His expression cracks me up. :)
LOL I know! He really LOVES American Idol and was excited to tell me about meeting him, I think it was just a bad pic! LOL

Okay Renee, Kennedy has the cutest darn clothes. I love this outfit, and she has different shoes for each outfit. You are one stylin' mama!I have to know, where did you get it?
I actually found that outfit at Sea World the day before! Isn't it cute?! It was only like $17 too. Yes, Kennedy is my shoe girl. She has more shoes than the rest of us combined. But she LOVES them! I see daddy having to get a second job when she hit her teenage years! LOL

Ryan Seacrest!! He's cute. Maybe that other guy with him could fill in as a replacement for his long-lost co-host from the first season ;-)
HAHAHA He would LOVE that!

The funny thing is... The caption "Holy crap, it's Ryan Seacrest" loaded before the picture did. so it was showing under the Handy Manny picture. I thought that you were just displaying your sense of humor! LOL! I said "Holy crap... it really IS Ryan Seacrest" when it finally loaded.
ROFL This made me crack up! Ryan kinda DOES look like Handy Manny! LOL

Dude... frank's head as big as Ryan Seacrest's! IS THAT POSSIBLE?!?!
LOL... literally or figuratively?! ;)

Renee,I just love Kennedy's smile with Mickey, she looked SO excited.
I know! LOL I love that smile too!

Oh yeah, I meant to ask you this when you posted the Universal Studio pics.. Did Kenn call Spongebob "Blah Blah" ???
Oh absolutely! Keeghan did too! LOL Poor Spongebob was probably SO confused! LOL Funny story, we were at Wal-Mart about a month ago and we were back by the shoe section. Kennedy saw these yellow wanna be crocs there and said, "LOOK mommy! Blah blah shoes!" There was an employee close by watching all this and I said, "No Kenn, they're not Spongebob shoes, they're just yellow." The employee called her friend over and she said, "The new name for these shoes is the 'blah blah shoes'." Her friend was like, "WHY?!" And she said, "Well that must be that little girl's name for Spongebob, and she called them the Blah Blah shoes so I think we should start calling them that, it's awesome!" SO if it spreads to all Wal-Marts and you hear people calling the ugly yellow wanna be crocs the "blah blah shoes", you'll know why. :o)

I have a question if you don't mind. I know a little about DS, but not much. Is it common for children with DS to be on the tiny side?
She IS tiny, isn't she? Kids with Ds are typically smaller, yes. Girls with Ds usually don't get much taller than 5 feet tall. Kennedy is even smaller than most of the other kids her age with Ds. She had a rough start when no one caught an intestinal blockage in her stomach after she was born. She struggled to gain weight forever, and even though she was born at 6 lbs 3 oz, at 7 months old she was BARELY 7 lbs. They finally got off their butts and quit accusing us of starving her decided to do some testing and found a blockage in her intestine. Once that was repaired she started growing, slowly, but by then the pattern had been set. She will probably always be really tiny. She is almost 5 (in May) and is still wearing a 2T in pants, if that helps you know how tiny she really is. (Well that an the fact that you can see in the pictures that her 1 year old brother is almost taller than her! LOL)

25 Things I hate about Facebook

We interrupt this picture fest to bring you this hilarious video stolen from Michael's blog. More pics tomorrow!

Pictures - Part 22 - Sea World 2

The day we were at Sea World was the hottest day and the kiddie area had these cool fountains to play in. I almost brought their bathing suits with me to the park and decided not to at the last minute, SO they got to play in their clothes! Keeghan slept through the whole thing! It's too bad. He would have loved it!

These are the end of our Sea World pictures unless you want to see TONS of pics from the Dolphin show and the Shamu show... but really, I'm wondering why we even bothered taking them! LOL I'll try to get up more random pics from the Village tonight and then the pics from Hollywood Studios are coming tomorrow!!! (There's a slide show here if you can't see it on reader!)

Pictures - Part 21 - Sea World 1

Pictures - Part 20 - Epcot 2

The following pictures were taken at the Princesses Luncheon. It was fun. Extremely overpriced, but fun.

Oh Cinderella, you're so funny!

I'll pose with you Aurora, but I'm not putting my food down.

Kassidy didn't mind putter her food down.
(Does Aurora look plastic to anyone but me?!)

Ariel just said she can't believe we're eating fish!

Yes Jasmine, I AM stealing Aladdin away from you. He likes me best.

The Belles of the Ball.

I simply must have the name of your hair dresser!

Kassidy, you really should be wearing gold you know.

Come on Belle, let's blow this joint.

Pictures - Part 19 - Epcot 1

Presenting: Sincess Kennedy!

Look at my cool slippers!

Wow he's crazy!

Pictures - Part 18 - Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique

After the Animal Kingdom, before we went to Epcot, I took Kennedy to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in Downtown Disney. Here, they transformed her into a real life Sincess.

What are they doing to me now?!

Getting the royal treament

I feel pretty

I hope she knows what she's doing!

I don't want to breathe in the hairspray!

Hmmm maybe you should leave my hair down...

Getting my nails done

They did a pretty good job!
