Yesterday I did laundry. All. Day. Long. Now when I say I did laundry I mean I put it in the washer and then transferred it to the dryer and then it was piled onto my bedroom floor. And there it sits. Waiting for me to fold it.
Who wants to help?

Oh my god, I am speechless! :-) Laundry is one of those things I am and was always anal about, I would freak out if I had to look at piles like that! Maybe time to start enlisting the kiddos to at least fold their own, well Kass and Kam at least? Good luck, if I were closer I'd gladly lend a hand! Robbin...Chicago
i'll come help you if you come help me!!! Thats what mine looks like too. Glad im not alone. Some days i wish my kids only had 3 pjs, 3 summer outfits and 3 winter outfits! lol.
Renee...my deepest condolences!!! I MEAN it... Do you ever see the show Jon and Kate plus 8? Kate does the washing and drying but a lady from their church comes over and folds it and puts it away!!!! DOESN'T THAT SOUND GREAT?!?!?!?
When did you sneak into my house and take a picture of my bed? That is exactly what it looks like on Saturdays since they are my laundry day. Thanks for making me feel that I'm not alone.
Wouldn't it be easier to fold them one load at a time as you pull them out of the dryer? Putting some of them on hangers would make it go faster too. My mom always had us kids helping but I must admit the most my kids do is carry the laundry down to the basement for me! lol
LOL. I am laughing because my bedroom is the same way. I wash and dry every day, but never have time to put them away. The boys put there's away, but the porta crib in my room houses my clothes and the girls' clothes. Bill's get hung since he has to be "pressed" for work. I HATE putting laundry away!
that's what my loveseat looks like also. We wash and fold once a week and with laundry for 8, its a lot. hubby washes/drys and the rest of us fold and put away.
Hahahaha, I'm doing laundry now. I take it you hate folding ;). Mine generally gets folded as it comes up. If it's not too cold in the basement I'll fold it right out of the dryer. Otherwise I'd have a pile like that somewhere. So I have to know, that's more than a weeks worth of laundry, right? I don't think I've ever actually seen my weeks worth of laundry in one big pile like that. Get the kids to help ;). They should be learning this anyways. I taught Natalie how to use the washer, but she's never actually done her own laundry yet. I have to figure out what day of the week would be good for her to have the washer. The girls sort their clothes for me usually though and then of course put their own stuff away.
Oh Renee...I've been there, except, my clean laundry could never touch the floor. I have a thing about that. It comes out of the dryer and into a basket. Sometimes it's folded, sometimes it isn't. But it never touches anything other than a basket or a hanger...no floors, beds, sofas, nothing. That weirds me out. I panic when Ted sets a basket of clean laundry near the dirty laundry. I have a problem, I admit it...Good luck on tackling laundry mountain. You have my sympathy. That reminds me, I have a load to put in the dryer.
Well I'm behind but I can honestly say not quite that bad. Holy cow is about the only thing I can say. I do admire your honesty. It makes me feel okay about having a load of dishes still in the sink and Carson's blocks all over my living room.
Hey I got an idea, have those neighbors help you out for a little community service. LOL
Ummm...I was just wondering where you kept all these when they were dirty!! LOL! Folding sucks. Have fun. With eight children, you know I've been there.
I can totally relate! I remember when I had all my kids here and had laundry like that. With 4 and sometimes 6 kids, I felt like I was always doing laundry, only mine ended up in the living room floor for me to sit in the floor and fold while I watched TV. Relax, at least it is clean. If I lived closer, I would come over and help you fold and put them up. Laundry is such a pain, yet something that must be done. Wishing you luck on finishing.
OMG! I am enjoying a good laugh right now and wishing I lived close so I could come help you!! I hate to admit this, but I'm a laundry snob. My dear hubby has an obsession about not having dirty clothes in the clothes baskets. He washes clothes every single day. It does a number on our water bill but gets me out of laundry.
OH MY, do you need some laundry pointers? www.flylady.net has you start one load every morning first thing when you get up. This week dont let anyone change clothes so that you can get caught up and not have that much next week.
Holy cow... there is someone out there who has the same laundry problem as me!!! Mine was on the wrap around couch. It's now folded, but has to go upstairs and into the drawers. Wanna make bets on when that will happen? LOL. I am glad I am not the ONLY one!
LMAO!!! now thats a lot of laundry!!! go take a look at my blog and tell me what you think please and please let all your friends know.. ummm please help me spread the word
Are there any clothes in anyone's drawers? Oh, I would FREAK if I had a pile like that! I do get behind, but I fold every load right out of the dryer and pile it on the washer. Then it gets put away by the owners. My children put away their own clothing. I put away ours. Can the kids help? Mine help when we get behind and they have daily chores, too.
Way to get so many to write in! You know I've got 6 kids and I never had a pile of laundry that big! You've got skills! Only the Lord knows all the "whys"...His way is always best! Praying! LOL, mine is actually at a decent level now. Its folded... kids are put in baskets but not put in their dressers. mine is put away. But I have had days like that and glad to know I am not the only one who utilizes the floor to pile up the clothes. I RARELY fold out of the dryer I HATE folding lol. Most the time though I do hang up the things that need to be hung up out of the dryer.. but sometimes I dont. The non hanging things almost always touch the floor before I fold them. I went and bought a shower curtain rod that is just tension, no screws etc and put that up in my laundry closet and hang the clothes there above the washer and dryer right out of the dryer. Easier that way :-). Just be thankful they are clean thats a big step, Its a big step for me anyway lol
My mom always folded the clothes as she took them out of the dryer, so that's what I always did. Then I met DH, and his family always just took them out of the dryer and threw them on the bed, and left it. He's since rubbed off on my and now I do the same thing! ugh. Although I leave them in the basket and fold a bunch of baskets full later on. I don't really bother "folding" stuff all nicely anyways, especially the kids stuff because they just go rummaging through their drawers and mess it all up anyways. I do make Nolan put his own stuff away, and I'm working on Kaia and Pierce putting their stuff away too. DH is a lost cause thogh. I always end up putting his crap away. If I don't, it sits on the chair next to his bed until it's all used up. Why bother having drawers or a closet???
Wow, what's with all the comments...? I guess we ALL have laundry, so...
Well, I have to admit I almost didn't want to look at a post titled "laundry" 'cause I have four kids too... I have decided I am not going to be stressed about laundry because it's futile... my secret weapon is Jason, he is like a laundry-doing automaton! But I still have to put it away, and we know that is the real problem. Make the kids do it, we have been doing that and it helps some. The putting away I mean. (It's just that sometimes they put the nice new clean pile of clothes... in the corner of their room and I still end up putting it away.)
And just for the record, Jon and Kate don't have that lady come over anymore to fold their clothes. She moved. Now the kids help her do it..mostly Hannah, cause she likes to do it. (OOps, not the Hannah above!)
ok...I just gotta set this record straight! LOL...I love some of these comments! I have helped Renee fold and hang laundry many many times, and even offered to take some to my house and do it and bring it back...and I even IRON!! But, noooooo...she doesn't want me to do that...so, sorry Renee, I don't feel sorry for you! This is your mountain to climb!! HA..literally! You know I'll help you if you want me to! Love, Mom
When your photo loaded, I busted out laughing and squealing "HA! She looks like me!" I feel your pain, sister, but at least yours is clean...I'm hiding on the computer from a pile that hasn't even made it to the washer yet.
Renee, Lets just say this I will never complain again about doing laundry daily... yikes. But every thought of putting them into seperate piles one for each person in the house. Kassidy, Kameron could help with there clothes. I have my 5 year old fold put away towels. Carol
OMG Renee. Just looking at that pile of laundry makes me want to cringe! Fortunately my husband does most of the laundry these days since I'm busy with work & school. I've gotta say that my kids help out quite a bit. Sometimes he'll have one hanging up clothes and the other helping him fold. I can't say I've ever had a pile that large, but then again we do like 2 loads a day so they get put away fairly quickly. Good luck with that and get those kids to work! ha ha
HAHA!! That looks like our house...only when I get caught up like that I pile the DIRTY laundry up in the living room. It's Brandons job to fold it after it's clean :) Want me to send him over? LOL
I have to say that this is THE FUNNIEST thing I have seen in a long, long time. My grandmother (she's 87) tells me all the time that she has never seen someone with as much laundry as I have. (We only have 2 kids right now, remember???). I should show her this pictures!! :)
I do the same thing- all the time! Once it gets in a big pile the kids like the "dig" and play in it. Fine with me until I actually start to fold it- then they better not mess up my piles!! I do try and have them fold washcloths or find socks/undies. It keeps them busy while I try and fold fast!
Oh I would love to help! That is my favotite thing to do! My neighbors looks just like that and I will sit over there for a couple hours and chit-chat while I fold all her laundry! BUT, she has to put it away! To bad you don't live closer! :)
I reeeeally hate laundry. Really. I think our kids could do with two outfits a piece don't you? I think my favorite is finding dress up and doll clothes in the laundry. Maybe second only to seeing the same shirt two days in a row that I KNOW did not get worn!

Welcome to my blog where I take on day to day life with my five amazing children: Kassidy, Kameron, Kennedy, Keeghan & Kellsey, and a husband in the Military. Join us as we face issues with Down syndrome, Leukemia, Deployments, and every day life with 5 young kids! You'll be in for the ride of your life!
My name is Renee, I am 34 years old, I am married to the Army... oh wait I mean I'm married to a Soldier, my hero. Same thing right? I am a misplaced Californian who lives in Colorado by way of Tennessee. I am a mini-van driving soccer mom... I always knew I would be! I am blessed to be able to stay home with my 5 amazing kids. Kassidy: my beautiful, too smart for her own good, funny, dramatic 13 year old who is starting her teen years with grace. Kameron: My high strung, smart, artistic, creative, silly, sometimes mysterious 11 year old who loves musical theater and acting. My 8 year old diva, Kennedy: who will most often be found dancing or dreaming of Justin Bieber. She's destined for the stars! Keeghan: my crazy, funny, silly, handsome 5 year old monkey who loves to ask me a million questions all day long; and our 6 year old Ukrainian Princess Kellsey who is finding her way in the world as she battles Reactive Attachment Disorder. Our goal for her is to make sure she knows she is always loved, wherever that may take her... I'm so incredibly blessed.

I'll take your mom up on her offer the next time she is up in NJ, lol.
Funny thing is...I think you stole some of our clothes, as I recognize several items!
Wow, now that is a laundry mountain! Did any of the kids jump into it just because it looked so inviting?

Laundry it truly is a nasty word! Wish we could just wear it and throw it away :)

Some would title that photo "Birth Control" and I can't say that I would disagree. HOLY CRAP!
Oh Boy!!! That's a lot of clothes. Good Luck!
Thank you so much Renee!!
I showed my husband and explained to him that I am not the only one that does laundry like that!! You made my day!! LOL
Oh my - that's a lot of laundry! I thought my pile was big!!
WOW!
Are you sure your kids aren't under there somewhere causing the pile to look taller!!??!!
Impressive!
