However, I know that many of you out there are in the throes of potty training. Have you seen this video?
I'm not exactly sure I would want my kid doing this dance... at least in public! Keeghan LOVES the video though and we've watched it about 100 times today. Who knows, maybe I'll start potty training him soon after all!
I've found that you have to find the humor in potty training. My most favorite story is when I was potty training Kassidy. She was absolutely refusing to go on the potty. She would hold it all day if she had to. I tried EVERYTHING. Begging, bribing, you name it, I tried it! Just as I was about to give up, we were planning a trip to Disneyland. I told Kass that if she wanted me to buy her toys at Disneyland we couldn't buy diapers anymore. We didn't have money for both. Viola. She was potty trained. Day and night. Booger. I knew she could do it!
Fast forward a month or so, and we're at Disneyland. We went into a store and I handed her a $10 bill and told her that was her diaper money and she could buy anything she wanted. She picked out a book that played music and took it to the cashier. She handed the cashier the money and said, "My mommy can't buy me diapers anymore because I'm using the money to by THIS book." Nice. That'll teach me!
Do you have your own funny potty training story?
I was contacted by the Kimberly-Clark company who makes Huggies and they are having a contest. The best potty training nightmare story wins a 6 month supply of pull ups and wipes! That'll buy a lot of books from Disneyland! Go enter the sweepstakes here!

the least favorite.... i hate emptying her potty chair. i dont know why but i do. Im trying to transition her to the big potty.
my nightmare story, in short, consists of diarrhea, no diaper and PJ bottoms on.
My least favorite part about potty training is that what works for one doesn't work for the others. As a result, I currently have 3 out of 4 kids in diapers/pull-ups (all of mine are ages 6 and under).
Pierce LOVES this commercial!
Thankfully, we are DONE with potty training! Pierce still wears a pull-up at night, but it's almost pointless because it's always dry. But I know the second I put him to bed in underwear he'll pee all over it.
My least favorite part of potty training is the entire process!! I don't like a single thing about it. Not one! There should be a switch you could flip or somethng that would make them all of a sudden just go.
I am in the midst of training my 21-month old whom we adopted from Guatemala last year. He has actually been the easiest of my 5 kids to train(so far anyway) and the youngest! I've learned with the other 4 kids so now I only put him right on the regular toilet and don't even mess with a child-size one. The thing I hate is having to put them on disgusting dirty toilets when we are out in public!
I am training my last of 4 children. WOO HOO. I hate the poop accidents. UGG
I don't have a "least favorite" but when I was trying to potty train my 2 year old daughter, her older sister who was 5 at the time was sitting in the bathroom "encouraging" her to go. About 10 minutes later, my older one yelled "Mommy she went"!!! To reward the younger one, I gave her some candy. I of course gave the older one candy too. About an hour later, my older one asked me: "Mom what's a lie"? I said you know what a lie is, when you don't tell Mommy the truth. She looked up at me and said "Jackie didn't pee, I peed for her".

Cleaning up the accidents!!!!!!!
ugh...
You got my attention, we're potty training right now!!! My least favorite part? ... poop in cloth undies, cloth training pants, cloth anything!!! Yuck! Why do they always poop as soon as you put underwear on?!!!
Carey, mom to Chelsea, who is not at all interested in potty training!!!
Having to carry around extra clothes in case of accidents. Having a child that will sign potty when not home but once home will not tell you she has to go.
My least favorite thing is that because I'm potty training for the first time, I really have no idea what I'm doing!!!
Thanks Renee!
Public bathrooms!! Wal-mart's in particular... I hate potty training, I am FINE with diapers. No rush here. I have trained earlier and later and for me later has been less frustrating, fewer accidents.
I can't think of any funny potty training stories. I haven't even thought about potty training CJ yet of course. Gosh, the kid just started walking ;). I'm not looking forward to training a boy though that's for sure. Like many other people here though I hated the poo in the undies. And poor Kaitlyn got the Toddler's Diarrhea right around the time we had started potty training her. I had to clean poo off the carpet, but she tried so hard. I had to put her back in diapers though until she stopped with the diarrhea. I swear she would have been trained way before her 3rd birthday if it wasn't for that darn diarrhea.
my least favorite part of potty training is dumping out and cleaning the little training potty.
LOL! Never seen that one.
The part I like the least is when my little one picks the bucket out of the seat on her own and splashes something somewhere... eewwwie!
Hmmm....a nightmare potty training story. I guess the worst thing I have experienced is the time Raeleigh managed to get her pull up off and poop in her bedroom floor. We are not talking solid poop FYI. She then decided to play in it...it was all over her toys, furniture, and body. I have pictures somewhere...it's disgusting. I should win this just because I had to clean that up!! LOL!
We are still working on potty training and I would have to say my least favorite part would be that I have to be consistent...I'm terrible at that.
While I hate cleaning up the messes of accidents on our hard wood floors, my absolute least favorite thing about potty training is that both of my attempts have been while I was pregnant. Having to deal with the messes and consistence while feeling ill and SO tired.... torture!!! I promised myself not this time, but surprise baby #3 is coming our way about a year before we had planned/hoped. Oh well! Can't be too upset about such a blessing!
Least favorite part? That would have to be feeling like a failure as a mother when Nothing worked. Thankfully, he just wears "insurance" pants at night and he only needs wiping help at this point. Oh, but there were days.

we are just starting to potty train, but so far i don't like poopy accidents and wiping with toilet paper...wipes are much nice, thank goodness for flushable ones!
OHH where do I start? So far my least favorite part of potty training is....the part where you have to get the kid to "go" in the potty. If it weren't for that I think I would really enjoy this process.
A few stories to share of our eventful "potty training" or as I like to call it potty Boot camp.
#1.
me: Koby, do you want to use the potty
Koby: No, I crackers
Me: NO Koby, Potty isn't a food!
#2. I am trying to get KOby excited about going on the potty by making up a song. So, everytime *I* think it would be a great time to go potty I take Koby into the bathroom, put him on the potty and say, okay sit down lets sing the potty song. SO, he proceeds to pull his pull up down, sit on the toilet, I sing a REDICULOUS song...that MAY go a little something like this ( more of a Potty RAP if you will!)
Koby is the best he goes on the potty, Koby is a good boy, no he isn't naughty!
HE doesn't need diapers he is a big kid, he goes on the potty so he can diapers he can get rid!
GO KOBY GO KOBY GO KOBY GO! ( i can not believe I am admitting this!)
He thinks this is great....except now he will go get the potty, bring in into the room I am in, set it down, and ask me to sing...do you think he is making a connection???
#3. Bribery! That HAS to work right?
"SO Koby if you want a cookie you have to go on the potty"
Koby: YEAY!!!!
Me: Okay lets go on the potty
Koby: NO....I not.
Me: WEll, don't you want a cookie
KOby: Yeay!!!!
Me: Okay, great, then lets go on the potty like a big boy...
Koby: NO....COOKIE!
Me: Yes, after you go on the potty.
Koby gives up...or so I think
A few minutes later...I come around the corner into the kitchen to find him standing "on the potty" in the pantry helping himself to cookies!
I mean after all I did just say to get on the potty!
NOTE TO SELF: Give specific instructions!
We are only about...ohhh 6 months into this journey! I am sure with my stubborn as a MULE kid, I will have MANY more stories! And I hope one of this will include SUCCESS!!!!
OOps! Messed my Potty Rap up a little bit..should say
"so diapers he can get rid"
Not whatever it is I typed above!LOL
I am fixing to start potty training the last of my 3 kids. I am dreading the whole process. She has already been more difficult and outspoken about not wanting to potty train than my other girls were.
However, my least favorite part is cleaning up the messy panties after each accident.
Accidents when we aren't at home.
My funniest incident is my granddaughter pooping in her bathing suit, it looked like she suddenly grew a tail under her bathing suit, it was absolutely hysterical.
That was so cute. How fast can you perform those moves???
My least favorite thing about potty training is all of it! But one huge thing I dislike is leaving the house....public restrooms are so dirty and not compatable with little bottoms! And automatic flushing toilets...forget it!!! Bri hated those things and would refuse to sit on them.
Lori Kyle
Ugg! Can I lend you Landon when you train Keeghan? He refuses to sit on any potty - big or small because the seat is too cold! The worst so far is the day we tried pull ups and he got in his diaper and "painted" with it.
love the video too cute!
My least favorite thing about potty training occured on Christmas Day (well several times, but he was in Christmas best, so I guess that's why this sticks out more) I decided to NOT have in a Pull-up that day, but in his new undies...
Me: "Manuel, do you have to go potty?"
Manuel: "No Mommy!"
A little bit later...
Me: "Manuel, do you have to go potty?"
Manuel: "No Mommy! I told you yast (last) time, I don't have to go."
Me: "Are you sure????"
Manuel: "No, I don't have to go!"
A few minutes later....
Me: "Manuel, what are you doing?"
Manuel (Behind the sofa): "Pee-peeing"
IN HIS PANTS!!! UGH! :)
Thankfully, he is now potty trained, except overnight. He still wears Pull-Ups. I'm not willing to risk it quite yet! :)
Oh my where do I begin! I loath potty training. Ashlyn is so back and forth on her efforts to potty train :( One day though, one day!
I can't stand cleaning the potty seat, so with my youngest child I used a little seat that goes right over the toilet. He loved it. The potty and poop go right into the toilet and it was so much easier to clean!!
Allison
Least favorite part of potty training, three words: Poop in Underpants! nuff said!
Glad to know I'm not the only one who hates potty training.
The thing I hate most is how loooooong it takes. Anyway, Goldie is in pull-ups this week, so throw my name in!
The worst part? trying to teach a little boy how to stand up an pee (around age 3) without the help of an adult male - trying to explain the "aiming concept" with the help of the recomended cherios - he starts sucessfully - but then with no warning lets go spraying the ENTIRE wall - pictures - sink, shower curtain, curtains and more. When you inquire why...he says "it WIGGLED"...does it really wiggle?
