Stupid freaking phone!!!

This is my phone. It's a wanna be iPhone. I hate this phone. Seriously. I got my first one the beginning of August, and it wasn't working right. I can't really remember what it was doing but I do remember that once it started ringing and wouldn't stop! It wouldn't let me answer, turn it off, nothing. I took it back and they gave me another one. Thank God.

Fortunately that one seemed to work ok except for the fact that they put the stupid mute button right where your cheek hits. On a touch screen phone. SO when you cradle the phone on your shoulder, it mutes your caller. Not really ideal for a multi-tasking mama! I'm taking it that the genius who designed it didn't have kids.

Slowly I got to like the features of my phone. They have a cool live search thing where it locates you with a GPS and then you can say something like "pizza" and it will show you every pizza place close by. They also have a movie app where you can look up the theaters near you and get movie names and times and even the plot if you wish. There's a weather app where you can see a weather forecast anywhere in the world. Then of course there is email and web and music and tons of other stuff.

Just as it was raking me in, a few days ago my phone went nuts. Completely nuts. I will be talking on the phone and it will go to a dial tone. It doesn't hang up though because the other people can still hear me. If I'm sending a text message it starts putting in random letters or just deleting what I wrote completely. I can only call people in my call history, can't answer incoming calls most of the time, don't get most of my incoming text messages and can't access my voice mail. My email works occasionally but will delete emails at random, and it usually jumps to other screens. The weather, movie and live search functions? Forget about it! GRRR

SO the other day we took my phone into the Sprint store who told me I had to go to a different Sprint store to see a tech. The tech did a system update and said that should fix it but if it didn't to bring it back to ANY store to have it replaced. It didn't work so this afternoon we went to the first Sprint store who told me I had to call the insurance people about it and they would mail me a new one. The insurance people told me that they only replace it if it's been damaged; for a malfunction we have to take it to the Sprint store. Seriously.

SO sometime tomorrow I will go BACK to the Sprint store and beg for a new phone. I have such a love/hate relationship with technology! Sprint is SO getting fired after my contract expires. I can almost see me talking on my REAL iPhone!

If you have insurance, hit it with a hammer. Seriously my husband did it once, no he doesn't have anger issues.

omg, the mute button. Ok, I have an iphone and i adore it. but I have a rather round face, with some adorably plump cheeks. If I get too excited and laugh during a conversation I can mute the phone with my face. Or if I smile too big. and I like to smile.

Too funny! You should check w/ Verizon....they are great! We never have problems getting things fixed and have only had 1 problem w/ a phone, it would let me answer incoming calls. Well, I could answer and people calling could hear me but I couldn't hear them, turns out is was a busted speaker. I had a new phone the next day....they didn't have any of mine in the store so the overnighted me one from the warehouse at no cost! Plus we have the best coverage I have ever seen...I get reception at my grandparents who live in the middle of farm county (nearest town is about 15 miles from them).

LOL I have that phone too. My first one went back the first day I got it because it was not working. I think I still have features that don't work, but I haven't even tried to use them. I hear your pain! LOL

We have Sprint too. I just got a new phone which so far I love, but I'm waiting to see how they mess up my plan. I have a very old plan that they don't even offer anymore. At one point in time they started charging us for our second phone line and they weren't supposed to. I had to argue to get the charges off. They'd take the charges off and then the next month I had to go through the same thing. They were all like sorry we don't offer that plan anymore so we put you on this new one. And I was all well sorry, but I didn't agree to be put on this new one so keep me on the old one. And then they were all well we don't offer that plan anymore so you have to use this one. And I was all well then you can cancel my contract and I'll go elsewhere. And they were all well if you do that then you'll be charged a $250 cancellation fee per phone for canceling the contract. And I was all I won't pay it because you were the ones who canceled my original contract to begin with without my permission. I did finally get my way and actually I pay less than I did before. But I had to add some things to my plan to get GPS on my phone for our trip so I'm not sure what is going to happen to my bill when I get it next month. I might just be telling them to take their service and shove it too ;). Although, I'm concerned that no one is going to be any better.

Oh, you'd love my three-year-old pink Razr... all banged up... I have Verizon service which is good though. I feel about a hundred years old when it comes to cell phones! My first one (1997?) was about eight inches long - nearly the "Zack Morris phone" LOL

I had similar problems with a phone several years back. After replacing the phone twice, it was still messing up. They tried to send me the SAME phone again and we argued for a long time before they agreed to send me a different model phone!

It doesn't hurt to demand a different brand... Sometimes they give in to keep your business :)

OK, I have an iPhone ... and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it! I really don't think I could use any other phone. I have had mine for a little over a year (it is the old one not the 3G) and I can't imagine how I made it day to day without it !!!!!

Good Luck with Sprint! I have had an issue with my router and was on the phone back and forth between Sprint & Linksys. I have been to the store twice came back home without a new router. My husband got on the phone and the lady tells him that I have been given the run around. We are supposed to be given a brand new router. If Verizon had unlimited we would of gone with them. We love our verizon phones.

I've got an iPhone 3g and I love it. I haven't had any problems with it and find new ways to use it everyday. keeping up with my blogs I read, checking my email from anywhere, using the GPS, etc. Oh yeah, it's also a phone, go figure.

I have the Instinct.. so does my husband and all my Brother in Laws. We have had ZERO issues with the phone. I use mine for everything. We've had it for, I don't remember. Awhile now. Hopefully they get it fixed for you... and I'm sorry you are having problems with it.

That would be why we left Sprint over 2 years ago!

I TOTALLY agree with you about Sprint! We have sprint too and shoudn't have switched from Verizon! I have noticed that everytime you call and complain about something, they hand out $25 credits left and right. The first month I had my phone I got $100 in credits because we were having problems! That is nice that you offer the $25 credit, but I just want the darn problem fixed!!!!!! ARGHHHHH I am so frustrated with them too! Good luck honney! :)
