Hit and run

Dear lady who hit my van,

I would just like to inform you that, despite saying you did NO damage to my van when you backed into me today, upon returning home I found that you did indeed scrape up the front. If you had bothered to stick around at the scene of the accident, I would have found it then and we could have worked something out. Instead you hopped back in your car and took off before I could say anything.

I don't understand why, after sitting at a red light for a few minutes, you would suddenly decided to throw your car in reverse and back up. I don't understand why you wouldn't look in your mirror before backing up to make sure no one was behind you. I don't understand why you wouldn't STOP when you heard a horn blaring and make sure that horn wasn't directed at you. I don't understand why you would ask if you hit me that hard and then claim you did no damage and then take off without making sure I was ok.

Conveniently, for you, you have no license plate and therefore I have no way to track you down. I tried to chase you, but I lost you. And so you'll get away with it. You may not be so lucky next time... so pay attention and watch where you're going.

Sincerely,
The woman you hit who is thankful that neither she nor her son were hurt

Man! I still think we should have gone looking for her! Do you know how scary it is to be on the phone with you and suddenly hear a horn blaring and then you yelling?! My heart was in my throat, my shoes flew on my feet and I had my purse on my arm...Let's STILL go look for her - maybe the dealership can give us a clue...we'll go tonight, after midnight, wear BLACK! I had that happen to me at McDonalds....these teenagers in front of me at the drive thru must have forgot something, and had a "duh moment" and decided to back up after they started taking off from the food window, smashed my license plate up and then took off.....probably embarrassed as heck!! who the heck backs up in a FORWARD moving line at McDonalds?? most people know that there is "usually" someone in line behind you.

Oh no that really stinks. Call the police and tell them to be on the lookout for that vehicle with no visible plate. I'm glad you are all okay. Some people. Makes you wonder how they ever got a license. Maybe that's just it, she never did get a license. Obviously she doesn't feel the need to have a registered vehicle. You know that's why she took off right? She would have gotten in so much trouble if she had stuck around for the police to come.

OH my goodness! I am glad you are OK. When I saw "Hit and Run" was the title of your post, I was hoping it was something else. Boy, the nerve of that woman! Maybe if we all pray she gets caught, she will!

Terrible terrible terrible!

And thanks for your comment on my blog!

Oh NO!! Did she have a temporary plate? You have a description of her vehicle, that should be sufficient.

Argh!!! I had the same thing happen to me. This guy ran a red light and left a huge dent in the side of my car. As soon as we pulled into a parking lot the guy pretended to stop the car and get out and then took off. Another car tried to chase him, but never caught up. People who think they are above the law make me so mad!! I am sorry this happened to you, but I am glad you guys are okay.

Did you call the police? Even though there's no license plate you could describe the car, right? If you were in CA there's uninsured motorist which works great! In fact it works better than when the other person has insurance...at least that's what our experiences were....
Am so glad you're okay!!!!!!! And you know the Lord knows who did it. She's in His hands!
Always here praying!
Psalms 18:2-6 The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies. The sorrows of death compassed me, and the floods of ungodly men made me afraid. The sorrows of hell compassed me about: the snares of death prevented me. In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears.

I am glad you are OK. Roy got rear-ended at 50 mph when he was sitting at a stop light and she tried to drive her wrecked car away. Roy got her license plate before she managed to toodle away. Turns out it was her Grandma's car and when her Grandma's insurance company called she couldn't remember hitting somebody. Duh! Because Grandma wasn't driving! I feel for you!

Best Prayer I Have Heard In A Long Time...
Heavenly Father, Help us remember that the jerk who cut us off in traffic last night is a single mother who worked nine hours that day and is rushing home to cook dinner, help with homework, do the laundry and spend a few precious moments with her children. Help us to remember that the pierced, tattooed, disinterested young man who can't make change correctly is a worried 19-year-old college student, balancing his apprehension over final exams with his fear of not getting his student loans for next semester.
Remind us, Lord, that the scary looking bum, begging for money in the same spot every day (who really ought to get a job!) is a slave to addictions that we can only imagine in our worst nightmares. Help us to remember that the old couple walking annoyingly slow through the store aisles and blocking our shopping progress are savoring this moment, knowing that, based on the biopsy report she got back last week, this will be the last year that they go shopping together.
Heavenly Father , remind us each day that, of all the gifts you give us, the greatest gift is love. It is not enough to share that love with those we hold dear.. Open our hearts not to just those who are close to us, but to all humanity. Let us be slow to judge and quick to forgive, show patience, empathy and love.
In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.

Oh Wow! That really sux!
Some guy left his car out of gear in Walmart (exit 11)last year, and it rolled right into my truck! Grrrr
No license plate there either. Luckily an off duty policeman was in Walmart when I went in to report it. He had the car paged overhead, and the guy took off running out of the store.
Hee Hee....Chuck and Mike were sitting on the hood of the truck when the guy got outside. All the cop could say was "Oh no, not him AGAIN!" Seems this was very common with the man.
We got everything settled,(he got a ticket for no plates) and the guy pulled his car into a handicapped parking place and went back inside Walmart! The nerve!
So the cop went back in and got the guy. They wrote him a ticket for illegal parking in a handicapped zone! lol
Some people!!

While I am sorry this happened to you. To give you some perspective on how lucky you were, go read about another accident on www.wxyz.com that occured last night. Four mom's will be burying their children this week. Say a prayer for them and pray that the woman who hit you doesn't do the same to someone else. I don't have a google account or a blog so I am anonymous from Michigan.
