Sleep.

Keeghan is still not feeling well. He's been a little whiny, a little feverish, nothing severe... he didn't seem to be in a lot of pain or anything, he was just blah. Until last night. He went to bed around 8:30 and immediately fell asleep. He was tired and slept hard... until 11:30 when he woke up and cried. And cried. And cried. Until 4:45 this morning.

He didn't want me to get him out of his bed, and when I finally did, so he wouldn't wake Kameron up, his crying escalated into a screaming bloody murder variety. It was really nice at 2am. So I put him back into his bed and he went back to just regular crying and moaning and groaning again. All night long. At 4:45 he finally fell asleep and slept until 7:15. YES! Then he woke up screaming again. *sigh*

My mom came over to hold him so I could get the kids ready for school, and of course he perked up not long after she got here. He seems to be ok right now unless I lay him down, then he freaks.

SO he has an appointment at 10:40 with the pediatrician and we shall see what they say. He's not pulling on his ears, but he's been gnawing on his hands like crazy. I don't think he's teething because the dentist said his 2 year molars were FAR from making an appearance. Who knows?

OK I'm off to shower so the doctor doesn't think I just rolled out of bed. Please just pray they can figure out what's causing him pain... or making him upset... or whatever. And pray we both get a nap this afternoon. I can't wait until he can tell me what's going on!

Oh no, poor little dude. Poor Mom!! I wonder if it's a sneaky ear infection, my kids like to make me think I know how to spot one and then change symptoms... I know Ava has chewed hands when she's had one. (Well, until next time...) Arline is just getting over the double pinkeye/ear infection combo. Spring, come quick!!

Ugh! Poor little guy. When Luke starts having a hard time I always figure ears, throat or digestive track. Glad you can get in with the doctor.

Ugh! I can relate to the sleepless nights. Hopefully your 30-year-old body responds better than my 51 ;-)

Aren't moms/grandmas wonderful!?

Poor little man,

I remember that after I had my tonsils and adnoids out it took a few weeks for the anestetia to leave my body and my sleep was messed up. Also is it possible that he is assosiated his crib/bed/sleeping with the hospital and the cribs there? He may be a bit young to make the assosiation but anything is possible. I refused to 'nap' after my surgery (I was 3) because the cruel nurse told me it was 'nap time' and then grabbed me away from my mom! Not a fun memory!!! Hope he feels better soon and the doctor can find an answer to provide you all with comfort.

Praying for a good doctors appointment, and you can figure out what he needs.

My son had his tonsils/adenoids out in November and had a HORRIBLE time with his ears! Our ENT said it was from "referred pain" and that when adenoids are removed, this is a common side effect. The ENT said it comes from the nerves around the ear being inflamed from the surgery. My son's pain lasted about two weeks...hopefully if this is Keeghan's problem, his will end much, MUCH sooner.

Oh I so feel your pain right now. CJ is sick too. Or maybe he's just reacting to the shot he had on Monday. Or maybe it's both. I have the feeling it's both ;). But it's awful when they cry when you put them down and cry when you pick them up. It's like they just don't know what they want. I hope he feels better and isn't in pain. Did you try giving him some tylenol just in case he was in pain? Poor guy. Poor you. I hope you are able to get some sleep.

hello!
as I read this I was like " holy cow...Emery is doing the exact same thing last week:!
she just got back from the audiologist & ears look okay!
she keeps gnawing on ALL fingers (amazingly) there are even bite marks & she is putting everything in her mouth & pushing on her cheeks!
I am chalking it up to 2yr molars early...AND either beginning to dream or onset of fears or something. ALl 3 kids share a room so we moved the older 2 to "camp" in our room & she has progressed from crying 30 minutes (screaming) to only a minute last night (over the past week!) I don't know if it is the age or what....but the first 2 nights she did this we went in to pacify her (worried a fever or something ) and she duped us into playing w/ her until 3am : ( hmmmmmmm. so...this PHASE lastest one week!
Hopefully it will pass & it is no illness...but WOW...it is scarey!
seriously....i am amazed at the similarities!
Thnks for praying for us yesterday....still awaiting results...*sigh*
