Spread the Word to End the Word

Sometimes I forget that this blog doesn't cater ONLY to those who have loved ones with Down syndrome. I've seen this video on over 50 blogs in the last week or so and it's awesome. I haven't posted it here because "everyone's doing it". BUT if you're reading here, and don't read other blogs about kids with Down syndrome, chances are you haven't seen this yet.

On March 31st we will be launching the first ever Spread the Word to End the Word Campaign. What word you ask? Retarded. Why? Because it hurts.

Perfect timing! An upcoming movie "Miss March" is using the r-word. Hollywood did it again :(

I LOVED watching this clip. I have an aunt who was born with Cerebral palsy as well as other mental disabilities. This is a cause that I personally would join in a heartbeat. He summed it up perfectly when he said that they are built to love, not fight back. It's so true. Typically the first few words out of my aunt's mouth after she meets you is "I love you". She tells EVERYONE that. It's awesome to see someone in the limelight standing up for them
