Q&A #69

Here is a link to the lactose medication I use but this one is linked to the kids kind, its one pill every day (ok well that is what the adult kind is.)
Thanks! I will talk to his ped about it! :o)

Sounds like it went great. That was exactly what you wanted for her right? Fully included in a "typical" Kindergarten class. So I'd say it was a very productive meeting. I bet she'll do just fine with the lunch line. Can't she bring her own lunch though? Do they have full day Kindergarten there?
Yep, that was what we wanted! She COULD bring her own lunch, but knowing her, she'll want the hot lunch. They do have full day Kindergarten here, thank goodness!

ps. On a positive note, that doctor you are referring to 'Dr. S' was featured here in Philadelphia Magazine as a TOP DOC! Yahoo! I will scan the article and pic and email it to you.
I saw that!!! Stephanie from Shriner's sent me the link!!! He rocks! :)

If the lunch tray is too big or heavy and she still wants to have lunch with her class, it seems like maybe there could be a rotating schedule of kids who would carry her tray for her? (The schedule would be to organize the daily fight over who gets to carry her tray LOL...)
I thought about that too... seems like she could have a buddy. The teacher in the meeting said that ALL the new Kindergartners have trouble with the trays at first, so hopefully if we work with her at home she will catch on.

very cute!! Is that one of those Zoo Pals ones? Nicky loves those, too. LOL!
Yep! He carries them everywhere! LOL

I thought it (Kellsey's auction) was supposed to end on the 25th!
Have you tried signing guestbooks on CB today? They messed everything up! I'm pulling my hair out! I'm actually looking forward to signing guestbooks on blogs instead!

It was, but I extended it a few days since we added so many new items towards the end. Yes, I hate it when caringbridge changes things!!! Frustrating!

How Sweet. Now on to another note I think my little Princess Ashlynn, she is 1(5/27/07), has a small crush on Keeghan, LOL. I was reading your blog and every time she would see Keeghan she would say Hi baby, I was reading the top entry and your header was showing she says "Hey baby, you hungy, wanna bite?" then put her mini wheat up to his picture. She is silly.
Awww so cute!!!

Just curious, is she signing as she sings too??
Yep!! She doesn't quite have the sign for Jesus down yet, but she's close!

oh my that was too cute!! What was she doing at the end, that was so sweet
She was just being silly I think! LOL

In New Zealand Flip Flops are called Jandals :-)
REALLY? That's so funny... so are only Flip Flops Jandals or are all Sandals Jandals?!

can I come for dinner?!?!!!!
Absolutely!

Mosters vs. Aliens is a really great movie for adults and kids! I've done some work with the movie so I know all about it,if you want some more info. Also, you should really try to go and see it in 3D- it's really neat that way!
Thanks! We still haven't made it there. We can't see it in 3-D, it freaks Kameron out.

If you come to Chattanooga, e-mail me...if you would even have a minute free. :)
I will for sure! :o)

So how held up is the missing paperwork going to cause your adoption? Any ideas? Will Frank be able to go with you still to get Kellsey or with his deployment are you not sure now? That really stinks. Why is it that he keeps getting deployed? Can no one else do his job over there? I know life of the military, but really it must get old sometimes.
Well, without the Senator's help they were saying it could be a YEAR! Which obviously won't work because Frank will be gone. We really have no idea now, but we have lots of great people helping us including an immigration attorney, so hopefully they can push it through. Frank HAS to with me to the Kellsey's country. It's their law. He HAS to be there for the court date or they won't let us adopt her.
As far as the deployment goes, such is Army life... his unit will be replacing another unit so they can go home. It stinks sometimes, but the Military has been good to us overall, so it is what it is.

I am so sorry to hear about Frank having to go to Afghanistan. I'm surprised they gave this so much notice. Is that so they can get mentally prepared to have to go over there? I thought they were bringing troops home, but I guess that's only for Iraq?
Yeah, we knew about this far in advance last time too. They'll be training throughout the Summer and Fall to get ready, so they kind of HAVE to tell the guys... or they'd wonder what the heck they're training for! haha And yes, they're pulling out of Iraq, not Afghanistan.

Hey Renee, As far as the lunch problem goes with Kenn, They SHOULD have a lunch aid in their that's supervising the kids and helping kids open milks and such... Our lunch aids also help the little guys ( we have 3 yr olds at our school who stay all day) who have trouble carrying their trays.. maybe that would be an option seeing she just needs help carrying and doesnt have to be fed her lunch and carrying the tray from lunch line to table would literally take a minute or two. The other things is that Kylie HATED 3d movies until about 3 mos ago. She's slightly older than Kam but seems to struggle with the same sorta issues. If i pushed it I'm sure she's fall on the spectrum too... but her ADHD and sensory issues seem to be all we need right now to get her therapy and an IEP. Anyways.. we continued to take her to the 3d movies and allowed her to watch with out her glasses on but encouraged her to try to wear them during the milder parts of the movie. She sat their Monsters vs Aliens last week with her glasses on the entire time. Her therapist said something about her brain and senses not trusting either other. Even though her brain is telling her that its just a movie her senses are telling her to be on alert for something horrible to happen because things are jumping out at her etc... Oh, and I wanted to tell you that she got approved for feeding therapy.. YAY.. we should be getting a call for her initial appt this month!
