Q&A #78

I wonder if he's having nightmares or night terrors. My brother used to wake up screaming bloody murder. It was horrible.
Kassidy had those too when she was about 18 months, thankfully I don't think that's what this is... hers were horrible!

Poor boy!! Is he taking any meds that could be messing with his sleep or moods?
Nope, he is med free.

I never thought about teething...but you know...I wonder if it could be. Olivia and Keeghan are about the same age and for the past 3days she hasn't been wanting to eat much. I thought about her teeth as that's how she gets when she's teething. Has his appetite changed? Maybe he's also going through some separation anxiety????
Keeghan's appetite DEFINITELY has not changed. He could out-eat me any day! LOL Do kids get separation anxiety just from being in bed?! I guess it's possible!

I am curious about some of the other thoughts that it could be nightmares - I don't disagree, that makes sense but what I want to know is what could a well loved and cared for 2 year old have nightmares about? It seems like as a child, the nightmares I remember, were after I became aware of some real danger, worried about it and manifested that in my dreams.
Do they worry about falling? Toys being taken? Food coming out of their noses? . . . I mean, what kind of things haunt 2 year olds to the point of having a nightmare?

When Kassidy was diagnosed with night terrors (which are different than nightmares) her doctor told us she could be seeing things like snakes... and that even though it appeared she was awake, even though her eyes were open and it looked like she was staring right at me, she was indeed asleep. We were told not to touch her or bother her, but just to watch and make sure she wasn't hurting herself. She was in a crib still so that made it a little easier. She never seemed to remember it in the morning and always woke up well rested... even though I was exhausted! LOL Thankfully she grew out of it. You can read more about night terrors here.

Idk, maybe he felt...lonely???? lol :O) Maybe I will understand this better when I have kids. lol :O) ps. THANK YOU! I got my cards today! I'm probably going to give the Mother's day card to my step-grandmother...she'll like that! :O)
LOL Maybe he was! You're welcome! I hope she loves it!!!

When is Mr. Frank being deployed again? I hope it isn't very soon! And when does Kass and Kam's school get out? Our local school goes out May 22nd. Is that the same with you guys?
Somewhere around March, 2010. Yep, Kassidy said they get out May 22nd too! :)

Ahhh, don't you love the end of the school year craziness? Well, I hope things settle down for you soon. Wanna come shampoo my carpets, hehehehe?
No... and no! haha

Is the weather looking like it will be good for Field Day tomorrow? Hope so. I have a hard time wrapping my head around the thought that my kids should be having field day already. Do you know theres isn't until June 11th? I'm still working on ordering the t-shirts for it. The craziness of the end of the year has already begun though.
Field Day was canceled :(. The kids were so bummed! We do get out early here but we also start REALLY early in the Fall!

Clean carpets? Sleep? You get all the good stuff. ;D
I know right? I'm so spoiled! haha

Is it doubly wrong if I steal it from you? That's awesome.
We can share a prison cell! LOL

It is by far the FUNNIEST video he ever did! Rebecca and I were watching this and Becca said: "I really hope Mr. Frank watched this!" lol Have a great day!
He watched it with me last night! He was laughing as hard as I did! :)

Yikes. Did it make you crazy that your kids were at school? I would be running there to get them.
It did sort of, but I don't THINK they would have let me take them out of the school anyway. The kids did well it seemed. I picked them up and they were all excited telling me about it. LOL Glad they don't worry easily! :)

Renee -- Thanks so much. Wouldn't it be an awesome story to tell if it works?
You're welcome! And yes it would!!! Good luck!! :)

OHHHH i love that dress!!! where did you get it?
Isn't it GREAT?! I got it at Wal-Mart of all places!! It's one of my favorites of her dresses!

She looks SOOOO cute! Purple is defiantly her color! Btw, how does she say her colors?
How does she say them? Like does she KNOW her colors? Yes. Sort of. She knew them all PERFECTLY until a few weeks ago when she all of the sudden lost her color knowledge. It is very strange! LOL We need to reteach her, I guess!

What a cute dress. Where did you get that? I wonder if they make one small enough for Mabry.
I got it in the big girls' section so the smallest size was a 4. You could always get one and save it for her for a few years though! ;o)

Response to one of your blogfans questions about dreams and nightmares! Dreams are your brain cell firing at random! Memories and images in the brain fire off when we are asleep. That's why most dreams don't make sense! We don't have them because of trama, we have them because that's how our brain works. But when we are experiencing a lot of joy or stress in our lives, our dreams can mimic that because that is what is on our mind. Bad dreams don't always mean bad things are happening in our life. 2 year olds see the same things we do, and their brains also work the same! They will have dreams and nightmares the same too, no matter their age!
