Q&A #87

Lord, please watch over Kellsey. Does anyone know how this baby (in the video) is doing now?
I wish I did. I'm not sure when this video was made. :(

She is just gorgeous!! Is there a reason as to why their hair is all cut short? Is just so that they won't have to deal with it?
That's probably part of it, but mostly it is to help control lice... it runs rampant in a lot of orphanages back there.

I can only imagine how your heart feels after getting these pictures! She looks fabulous! I'm thinking it's "fruit time"--doesn't that look like pear? But hey--if candy time will get more chocolate for mom, I'm all for it!
I thought so too, but if you zoom in, whatever it is looks kind of "crumby" so maybe it's some kind of cake? I just hope she'll share when we get there! hehe

Oh my, SO GREAT that Gillian is in the same baby home!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I didn't know that! That's wonderful she could visit with Kellsey and get pictures - just WONDERFUL!!!!
Yes!! Kellsey and Evangeline are crib mates :). They have been buddies since they were itty bitty and we intend to get them together after we're all home, too! :)

This post totally reminded me, I'll take it that Kennedy finished chemo? I know that after any child with cancer goes into remission, they have about 2 years of chemo afterwards, a "maintinance chemo". Is Kennedy done with that? Or did she even do that. Because I don't think I remember you talking about her doing chemo afterwards. Thanks! I'll be praying!
With Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) girls go through 2 years of chemo, I do believe the longest phase of that is maintenance. (Boys go through 3 years because there is chance of it spreading to the testicles.) Kennedy had Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML) which consists of 6 rounds of chemotherapy. It's much more intense chemo, done mostly inpatient, where ALL patients can do a lot of their chemo on an outpatient basis. In Kennedy's case we were inpatient for about 3 weeks of each month. Five days of that was chemotherapy then we would wait for her counts to drop and then s-l-o-w-l-y recover. Once she was safe to be out of the hospital without catching every infection under the sun, we'd get to come home for about a week. Then we'd turn around and do it all over again. After 6 rounds (or whatever is written into the child's chemo roadmap by their oncologist) their chemo is done, and hopefully the cancer is gone... never to return. *sigh*

Hilarious! Is that JoJo the clown? Do I know my characters?!??
YES! LOL You can see the other picture here. :)

OMG, Keeghan's face in the first picture cracks me up! Does he always "rock out" that much? Too funny!
Oh yeah! He LOVES to rock out to that guitar! LOL

Whoa!!!! Who is that little boy??? And where is baby Keeghan?
I don't know!!! *sniff* But I wish he'd stop this whole growing up thing!!!

So what is the name of their band? Will you step in and be the drummer? LOL
The Special Ks of course! LOL I think Kameron needs to be the drummer! LOL

ROFL..oh how cute they are..i'm trying to decide whether Kennedy is going with the groove or thinking about getting rid of the competition!! LOL..
LOL I think she's thinking his guitar is out of tune! haha

You are emotional and cry at things, but I wish I 'could' cry over sad things. I do and sometimes a tear or two fall, but then it stops and my heart just aches and breaks for the situation at hand. Make sense? I think sometimes I need to cry more. I am praying for those all involved here and will keep you in prayer, too.
That does make sense. I feel better after I cry... sometimes. But I hate it when I breakdown at the wrong time over the wrong thing. Makes me feel SO dumb!

I know this song isn't it sung by Clink Black and Lisa Hartman Black. It makes me cry at times. Great song great message.
I'm not sure. I never know who sings anything! LOL It is a great song though! :)
