The kids all had a GREAT first day of school!!! I dropped off Kassidy first and she fell right into the groove! She found a friend, waved bye and was gone! :) Her teacher seems really nice! Then I walked Kameron to his classroom. His teacher is a friend of mine so I got to give her a hug. She is actually on maternity leave right now after having the most beautiful baby boy so she was just visiting today. His sub was there as well so I got to meet her too and she also seems nice! His "real" teacher will be back in October. Kass and Kam were thrilled to let me know that I have homework this weekend from both their teachers! And they told me if I don't do it, I'm grounded. I'm thinking this doesn't sound like such a bad thing... HA!
After they got settled we went to the music room where all the Kindergartners congregated. The teachers took them from there to the classrooms and the parents stayed for a meeting. Then we went to the classrooms to get the kids. It was a REALLY short day for them today. NOW they are on a weird schedule for the next 2 weeks. They are doing testing so each child only goes 2 days out of the next 2 weeks. It's a state wide thing, I guess. It's been like this since Kassidy was in Kindergarten. SO Kennedy won't go back to school until next Thursday and then again on the following Friday and THEN she will start full time on the 25th. I know, it's confusing lol.

Oh, Renee, I use to babysit Missy (Morton) Reece when she was a little girl. I thought I recognized her picture this morning, but once you put a name to it...well, of course I knew her! Her mom & dad are just some of the nicest folks you could know! Tell her Beckie Smith says hi!

My biggest pet peeve regarding backpacks....They're too darn big for the little ones...I know they make smaller ones, but most schools want the bigger bags.

the kids looked so cute/handsome! I remember sending caleb last year and his backpack was HUGE! he has grown so it doesn't look as big this year. here in knox county the kindergarten kids go 1 day a week for the 1st two weeks and then start full time the 3rd week of school.

That is a strange schedule. Hopefully Kennedy isn't too difficult with having to wait so long to go back to school. I wonder why they don't schedule testing before school starts? Hmmm. The pictures are great. But seriously how does Kennedy stand let alone walk in that backpack. My gosh it's huge on her.
