So my curiosity got the best of me and I went to the website listed on the video. Apparently they're taking pre-orders. Seriously. Seriously?!
I just have one request. If you buy one of these, can you PLEASE leave me a comment and tell me WHY. If you got here from googling this product and you are a maker or distributor of this product, please, feel free to explain this to me. Because it seems a little... sacrilegious? I can't even wrap my mind around this. LOL
Is this for real?! I feel like I'm being punk'd! LOL

I'm pretty certain it's a joke...
It is very sacrilegious. However, I am not Catholic & it is directed to Catholics. Maybe they wouldn't think so. We may have been punked, but I bet you a dollar that someone will be thrilled to order it! I have a hard time with lots of the junk peddled for the Faithful...even from LifeWay.
I think it's hysterical.
I bet it will sell too.
Very bizarre! Totally directed at Catholics and I thought it was hilarious! The sad part is that people would probably buy it.
hmmmmmmmmm......
Ummmmmmm. whaaaaat? I mean, I'm Jewish and I know there are jewish boardgames. like apples to apples jewish edition. but something like this MUST be fake...
I tried to do some research: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/96208-Mass-We-Pray-A-Holy-Hoax-or-Just-a-Really-Bad-Game
That website says it is, Michael had a few more comments with people saying both that it was real and that it was fake. According to that article though there is no business in the Boston area by that name and the website is owned by some other company but no owner name is posted. Let's just hope it's some weird joke for a reaction!!
I am sure this has to be a fake. This is HORRIBLE!!
Well as a Catholic I can absolutely say that is the freakiest thing I've ever seen!!!! I would never buy it or recommend it to ANYONE!!!! Seriously!! Catholics celebrate Mass everyday at CHURCH, no need to make a mockery of it at home.
Something tells me it's just a stupid attack on the real faithful.Unfortunately this hits me hard because it is obviously directed towards Catholics. But no one is safe, all religions and all faithful are attacked by non believers or others.
I can also say no Catholic or any serious christian in their right mind would make something as stupid as that "game".
If it is a joke , it's not a very funny one.
How utterly bizarre! Now I REALLY want to know whether it's real or not...
I am Catholic. Not really offended.Totally a joke I am sure but why is the question. As a practicing, faithful Catholic,I would NEVER buy it and honestly,I love a good joke like the next but I really don't think it is funny.Weird yes.Funny, not so much.
Well, I'm Catholic and I don't know what to think. Can't say I would call it hysterical. I wouldn't assign too much importance to it though, there's all kinds of stuff out there. I'm not sure if I like it less if it's made by Catholics or by non-Catholics...
Bizarre. I am not Catholic, but still...very bizarre. In VERY bad taste, to say the least, and funny only in that it makes your jaw drop open in disbelief. It HAS to be a joke, because there is NO way it could be anything else. And nope, it's not a funny one...except, again, in the the sense of funny peculiar. But very seldom have I seen something in such bad taste.

I would say that I hope it's a joke, but knowing all the stuff that is out there these days probably not and like others said, catholics might not think so. But I think it's awful!
Just out of curiosity, I looked it up on Amazon, and no results. If this were not a joke, Amazon would probably be selling it.

Honestly, I would buy it and I'm an ordained minister! A lot of churches are trying to be more "user friendly" or appeal to those who aren't into all the traditional "church stuff" with more contemporary services and letting go of some of the traditional rituals. Particularly in the Catholic church, you CAN'T get rid of the ritual. But it's a lot to learn and to try and teach. If done well, this could be a really fun way of teaching a lot of important doctrine and tradition to kids and adults!
And no offense to anyone, but I have found that the people that take themselves and their religion too seriously and can't laugh at it occasionally are usually the ones who are not at all secure in what they believe or why they believe it!
I live in a VERY Catholic community and am one of the only Protestants around. All of the local events are posted in only one place: the (Catholic) church bulletin, that's how bad it is. (Full disclousre I am Episcopalian--or Catholic-lite as someone once told me. So there are some similarities, but havig been to a fair number of Catholic services I would have to say there's many, many more difference than there are similarities between our services and beliefs. I don't even know what a lot of those things in the video game are) I can honestly see people I know buying a Wii for their kids just so they could better learn the rituals of the church.
I really like what Sandy who posted above me had to say about this.
Would I buy it if I was Catholic? No way. But if it is going to help people understand their religion better (and the Catholic faith is ALL about riutal) than why not?
Anon. (cause I live in really small place!)
I am a life long Catholic who grew up in a very Catholic community. As kids we used to "play mass" just like we "played school" because mass and our faith was so much a part of our lives. I see this a the modern way of doing this and a way to supplement the faith education our children received through catholic school and/or parish religious education programs. Of course I would insist on reviewing the content and would want to be sure that it was presented in a reverent and accurate way according to the teachings of the Church, but it might be a nice addition to our lifelong faith education, especially for younger kids, but certainly not the central focus. Similarly, my kids had a Bible game for the Xbox when they were younger and it was a fun new way to help them learn about the Bible.
I would comment on the previous post that the Catholic faith is "ALL" about rituals. It is really about the Christian faith and belief that Christ was born and died to save all people. Catholics have over the centuries developed many, many rituals that help the faithful have tangible ways of demonstrating their faith and these rituals are all very meaningful when you have an understanding of the meanings behind them, not just the actions that are performed.
My first thought was to see the profit motive. My second thought was something I was told when I was visiting the Sistine Chapel. The tour guide said that churches were painted with murals because the majority of people were illiterate. Done properly, this could be a good thing. The drive-in church was laughed at, became the Crystal Cathedral. Ministry can by where you find it.
It's a marketing gimmick for a game called Dante's Inferno. If you click on Pre-Order Now it takes you to a trailer of the video game with the tag line "Go to Hell 2-09-10"

I think is just way too funny.
are you sure it wasnt made by a mexican?? really some mexicans have some of the weirdest ideas, and this sounds like a good mexican joke
@Alicia, I'm sure you didn't mean to, but (to me anyways) your comment came across as a little ethnically insensitive. How is a Mexican comment different than a comment about blondes, deaf people or even our northern neighbours (Canadians) for that matter?
I think it was meant as a compliment, but it can be taken two ways.
Alicia lives in Mexico, so I'm pretty sure she didn't mean anything bad by it. ;) I make blonde jokes all the time... though they're usually about myself! LOL
