Busy life is setting in! Kellsey is starting to come out of her shell more and more. We are seeing her silly side and it's so cute. She and Keeghan are having a great time playing together. He's teaching her all kinds of fun stuff... like laying on the coffee table! LOL We found out today that she likes tomato soup! YAY Her diet is slowly expanding!
She also cried when I put her down for her nap for the first time today. This kind of surprised me, but it kind of made me happy too because she's letting us know what she does and doesn't want. Still though, she didn't get out of her bed, even though she was not happy about being there. Good girl! :)
This afternoon I went and spoke to Kameron's class about Down syndrome and what it is. They were a good group and had lots of questions for me afterward. They all love seeing Kennedy on the playground at recess!
Tonight we all ran to Target. It was Kellsey's first time in a shopping cart, but it didn't seem to phase her much. She just rode along happily. :) I should have taken a picture! Then we came home and ate dinner, did homework and got the kids ready for bed. Miss Kennedy was being quite stubborn tonight about her homework. But we finally got it done and now all 5 kids are in bed and it's time to breathe! AHHH!!!
No pictures tonight, because I didn't take any... I know, bad mommy! I will take a bunch tomorrow though! Hope you all had a great afternoon and evening!

Sounds like it's going well. It took Evie months to let us know what she thinks about things (now she does!)
That's great that she's doing so well!
I'm so happy to hear that she's adjusting so well...Prayers from RI!
oh my letting you know what is on her mind is wonderful! That means she is attaching :) I am so happy for her and your family. She is just beautiful.
Bad Mommy? Ha! BUSY Mommy!
Sounds like all is going well. I am thinking of you all
Bad Mommy my BUTT!! Renee yourea genuinely good person & I can only hope to be 1/2 the mom you are! We need to get together soon! Whats your schedule like for next week? Maybe we can ALL do dinner?
Keep up the GREAT work!
Was just thinking...maybe Kennedy's trying to figure out what's going on and dealing with the reality that Kellsey's here to stay.
Still here, still praying!
Deuteronomy 31:6 Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

I'm so glad Kellsey's settling so well. What a blessing.
OK Renee 5 kids can NOT put you over the edge and have you slacking on pictures :) First trip to walmart and you missed a photo op?...hummmm I just dont know. lol. I am happy to know Kellsey is coming out of her shell and enjoying the kiddos, she is so adorable.
I have been wanting to talk to the kids in my girls' classes about ds, can you let me know what you talked about, how in depth, what grade, etc....please email me when you get a chance if you dont mind(narrettog@yahoo.com)..Thank you so much. Have a fun day with your little ones.
Hearing that she cried when you put her down for her nap, actually made me happy. NOT the crying, but that she's feeling safe enough to "test the water", so to speak.
You had mentioned in a earlier post that she does the dropping to the floor thing when she's doing the tantrum thing. I just want to mention "Nurse Maid Elbow". If a toddler drops while you're holding onto their hand, it can dislocate the elbow. It happens alot, you just don't hear about it often.
This comes from being a Pediatric nurse and years of "nanny-ing". It also happened to my niece, when she was pulled from under a bed by her arm (by her little friend). Usually, an ER visit is needed, where they have to pop it back into place.
I share this only as another awareness thing! Hope it never happens to anyone's child!
Blessings! Jo
