Christmas Eve Pictures

Every Christmas Eve after opening our new jammies, we bake a birthday cake for Jesus. We never want our Christmas to be all about Santa and presents. Yes we talk about Santa and we leave him cookies and there are presents galore and I think I am more excited to give the kids presents than they are to get them! (OK, maybe not! haha) But we want to make sure that our kids know, first and foremost, that Christmas is Jesus' birthday... God's ultimate Gift to us, sent as a tiny Baby. Birthdays are a HUGE deal in our family, and since Jesus is the center of our family, HIS birthday is a huge deal too! We bake the cake on Christmas Eve and then after our Christmas dinner is done, we sing Happy Birthday to Him and have some birthday cake!

Kellsey enjoyed helping to make the cake this year... she was VERY tempted to eat the batter haha so I had to keep my hand close by and keep her stirring and not eating! LOL We didn't get any pictures of Kass and Kam preparing the cake... not too sure how that happened! They did the first part though... egg cracking and oil pouring and measuring and stuff like that.

Stir it...

Stir it...

Look! I'm doing it too!

No Kellsey, don't eat it! LOL

Keeghan's turn!

This is fun!

Cute smiles!

The 3 girls... Kennedy looks thrilled! LOL

My handsome boys. :)

What a wonderful tradition. I love singing Happy Birthday to Jesus. I am anxiously awaiting more pics of your Christmas celebrations. Kellsey truly looks like she is just fitting right in.

This is Joyce. What a great thing to do, make a birthday cake for Jesus. Love seeing all the smiles of the kids with Kellsey. This must be such an overwhelming event for her but she seems to be fitting right in. Your kids are a huge part of that I'm sure. Such great photos to share.

I think that is a wonderful idea. What a way to celebrate Jesus in our lives.

I think I'm stealing that idea for next year. LOL
