Well, the kids are in bed now. They LOVED the show. Kennedy now calls it the "Kennedy show" haha I want to watch it again tomorrow when I can devote my full attention to it. Kass and Kam had LOTS of questions about the other kids. Sparked some good conversations!
Anyway, if you haven't answered on facebook already... or even if you have... what did you think? Was Truth Be Told good? What you expected? I just got off the phone with both our producers and they are happy!
For those of you who don't have Discovery Health, I'm working on a way to get it online. Bear with me.

I wish I could have seen it. I don't have Disc. Health so I had a friend of mine DVR it, but I don't know when I'll get over to her house to see it. Hopefully you will get an online version as I can't wait to see it. The "clip" was amazing and hopefully brought new light to all those amazing people living with a special need of some type.
Take care.

Renee,
The show was amazing...We loved it

It was so good. It was hard to watch the other 2 children. I follow a EB mom's blog. I can't imagine the physical & emotional pain for the teen & know that there is a clock ticking away on her life. I hope the transplant goes well for her.
I hope all the families will be followed in the future. The wonderful thing is that we are right here on the sidelines or in your back door with the Garcias. How fun.

I got expanded cable yesterday so I could watch the show tonight. All of you are amazing. The love for your children is evident. My hope is that there will be a awareness of the needs families have to take care of their children the best way possible. Kennedy is precious- What a darling little princess! Thank you for sharing her with all who follow your sweet family.
Hi Renee! Things have been super hectic [a/k/a normal] and I didn't realize until 6pm that tonight was "the show." I spent an hour and a half calling all of my family and friends, and all of Landon's (Rise School) classmates, to tell them to watch -- I spent the other thirty minutes tube feeding Landon, changing a poopy diaper, and replacing his mickey button :) I put info about the show on my facebook page along with your blog link. Your family, and each family shown, is a million times more amazing then what they could produce in a short segment; but I love and appreciate the fact that you MADE the time to share [a small part] of your family's story. I know many wonderful things will result from the knowledge and precious faces presented tonight. THANK YOU!!!

DVR & watch: Tonight on Discovery Health -- just ran at 8pm will re-air at 11:00pm. "Truth Be Told" - three families with a child with special needs. One has a rare, severe skin condition, another autism, and the third, down syndrome - Kennedy Garcia. I found this family through our "carepage", and have constantly been inspired by them. The mom, Renee, blogs often [and well] www.myspecialks.com The show is very surface level and trying to briefly make its point, but there are touching moments and reminders that everyone has trials and blessings. Please watch!
Can't wait until you can post it- they didn't play it on Discovery health in Canada.
It was well done. It brought tears to my eyes to see what all of you as parents go through everyday. I am thankful my neighbor let me come over to watch it as I do not have Discovery Health. I let her know that it was on as she also has a Down Syndrome girl who is a year older than Kennedy. Thank You for sharing when Truth Be Told was going to air.
I loved it. I almost missed it, I checked TLC and Discovery, and finally thought to check discovery health. Duh. The other stories were great too. How did you get to do the show?
I'm watching it right now...Kennedy is so beautiful Renee!! As are you...love and prayers from RI!
I think it was great! It was so awesome seeing Kennedy up close and personal like that.
It was really inspiring seeing her in her pre-k class too...I don't know why, but I never thought I could put Gabby in a typical pre-k. I knew we would push for inclusion in elementary but I just didn't think it would be an option before that. So THANK YOU!
I'm watching it! In my dorm lounge. I keep dragging people into the room and going "LOOK ITS KENNEDY! She's so cute!"
My favorite part is when you say "what's your name?" and she says "I'm beautiful". I think that sums up your relationship so well!
I love her teacher too. She seems like she really wants to foster independence in Kenn.
Renee- I stumbled across the show tonite since I, generally a faithfil reader, had not been keeping up with the blog the last couple weeks due to the holidays. But, I am so glad and lucky I did see the show! It was just beautiful! It makes me admire you and Frank all the more. I already knew Kennedy was precious, but what I really see now is the love you have given her that makes her life flourish! All of you looked just great! All the kids- it was just wonderful!!

Wonderful!
Renee it was GREAT. I tivo'd it on the recorder so I can watch your lovely family again and again. All the families were inspirational. Kennedy is such a beautiful girl! Praise God that television is airing a story that so MANY of us families want to see. It's the best reality tv that I have seen in a while!
Bearing! Is it online anywhere?
Know that I'm here praying!
John 14:1-3 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

Well, I had to go all the way to channel 219 before I found Discovery Health...but I found it and I LOVED the show!! I think what I liked best was getting to see you and your family in action.....hearing you talk, hearing Kennedy do her thing, hearing Frank etc. etc. And I am just thrilled that you got to talk about Kellsey as part of your family too. Even though we have never met, I felt like someone I knew was on television. Great job!!
THE SHOW WAS AMAZING!
Chuck finally got a look at the "real" Garcia's ! I always share the blogs with him, but he's not much of a reader. He cried!!
I thought it was funny at the end when they said you hoped to have Kellsey home within 9 months!!
That would be DAYS now!!
GREAT JOB!! You're amazing!
I know I already commented on your FB page, but I wanted to second what Molly said. I LOVE that when you asked Kennedy her name, she said "I'm beautiful." So stinking cute! I'm glad I watched the preview. That's when I teared up watching you and Frank. Last night, I could just enjoy the show. DH is going to watch it with me tonight. :)
Renee the show was great!!! We all watched it. My husband just thinks Kennedy is the most beautiful little doll. I swear he tears up every time he sees her.
The kids kept pointing out parts in the show that they recognized pics from your blog of, like the Princess party and the graduation.
We all just enjoyed it so much!
Joe wanted to fast forward through the other families and just watch you ;). Well, not that we could because we watched it live, but even still I wouldn't have let him, hehehehe. I thought it was good and didn't see any parts that they shouldn't have put in there. Although, when Eve broke down and was saying why's this my life I thought oh why did they show that she's going to be attacked for that. At least they showed the part where she said she didn't mean it like it sounded. At the end I was thinking they really need to do an update on all of these families though. Because obviously for you lots has changed since that was taped or even originally supposed to have aired. It would be nice for them to come back once Kellsey is home and settled in with the family. And I'm dying to know what happened with Marybeth's daughter and her bone marrow transplant. And I think Eve just needs to buy herself a horse farm ;).
I am hoping they repeat it soon. I have that entire series set to record and not sure why my DVR didn't record it. I saw your intro on DCH webisode and that's enough to make me know I HAVE TO SEE IT. You guys are wonderful and I think it is amazing what you're doing. Keep up the good work :)
We watched it! I know this is so totally cheesy to say, but I was SO proud of you and your family!! Kennedy is just wonderful! : ) GREAT JOB!
LOVE LOVE LOVED The Kennedy Show!!!!
Sunnie
I dont even have satelite BUT mom does but didnt have Discovery Health BUT she called and told me she upgraded so she DID get it DVR'd for me, I will watch it tonite, so excited to see you and your family!!
I missed it due to not having the station. I can't wait to watch it online. I'm sure it was WONDERFUL!
can't wait to watch it online!!
Awesome!!! My kids were GLUED to the tv and silence hit when commercials were over! LOL That Kennedy is so SMART and so stinkin cute!!! LOVE her voice! I cried when the kids started chanting "go Kennedy." Great job Renee!!!
BTW, you husband was such a natural talking on camera - you have a BEAUTIFUL family!
The show was SO GOOD! I loved it!
I already commented on facebook, but I'll tell you again, I LOVED the show! Katie was supposed to be in bed, but came down for a drink and caught a glimpse of Kennedy and begged me to let her watch. I DVR'd it so she can watch the whole thing today!
I thought it was great~ I fast forwarded through most of it last night because I wanted to see Kennedy's part, but I am going to go back today and rewatch the whole thing.
I think it was great! There was no negative things that they included which sometimes producers of tv shows tend to do.
Very inspiring!
Now I love your blog even more!
I hated that I didn't get to watch it, we don't get that channel. I look forward to getting to see it online.
5:30 this morning sure came early - I couldn't watch the 8 pm showing but they repeated it at 11. Great show - the other families were interesting but I felt that your attitudes were much better than the others. Also, I am glad they included your faith in the presentation. Kennedy is a doll and I can't wait to see her and Kellsey together.
SHOOT, i check your blog almost daily and yesturday i did not. and i missed it
I loved the episode. I recorded it and watched it late last night when I got home. I think you did an excellent job at portraying your life. The other cases were very sad.
I loved it too. They seemed to focus a lot on when the teacher was redirecting her, but I guess that's just part of it. You did an awesome job Renee!! I liked they also focused a lot on Kellsey.
I kept waiting for Kennedy to say her name was 'sincess'!! She is such a cutie. Keeghan was also a cutie pie with the binkie in his mouth.
I think you guys all did awesome!
I absolutely loved it. Kennedy is an amazing beautiful little girl that brings so much joy to so many people. I wish I could get my hands on her and squeeze her. I also fell in love with the other families on the show. So glad I got to see it.
Dee Dee Weatherby - Colton's mom
I thought they did a nice job showing the ups and downs of having a child with special needs. Poor Laurie was completely freaked out by the girl with EB, but loved watching Kennedy and the girl with autism. She said since Kayla has Down syndrome AND autism, Kayla should be on TV, LOL!
We loved it here in VA! My daughter is in love with your kids! I thought it was a great show!
