Because you see, last time they said we were going to have a HUGE storm, and well... they were wrong! HA!
When I woke up on Friday morning, I opened my blinds to SEE... nothing. The kids excitedly ran to the windows and were immediately let down. Awww. Still they assured us, "The snow IS coming!" We waited and we waited and we waited. Facebook was filled with jokes about seeing random snow flakes and stores being sold out of milk and bread... and then, finally the snowflakes started to fall.
They fell and they fell and they fell...
And then there was a 20 car pile up on the highway because people in Tennessee don't know how to drive in the snow. *sigh*
One day and 6 inches of snow later, we let the kids outside... it was too fluffy to really build a good snowman, but we managed a little one who Keeghan named "Snow Berry" LOL. They had a lot of fun... except Kellsey... she doesn't seem to like snow much. Oh well! haha She stuck by me and we wandered around. I think she wanted to get in the car and GO somewhere! :)
We enjoyed our first (and probably only) "real" snow of the year. Popular vote says school will most likely be out again tomorrow... we'll see. Thanks weather people, for getting it right this time! ;o)

Lucky, lucky, lucky!!! Cute pics!!
What fun pictures! Have to admit I'm with Kellsey, I'm not a fan of snow either. Just wanted to let you know the mountains near Bloomington are supposed to get hit with snow this coming week, my part of Bloomington will be flooded without a doubt.
Stay warm and enjoy the snow.
Cathy
We got your same storm and have the same story. The kids went to school on Fri but were hoping the snow would come during the day. It started at 8:30 and by am we had 3 1/2 inches. But the last inch or so was frozen rain. Not very fun to play in the first day. School has already been called off for Mon since the roads are a sheet of ice. But pulling the kids on their sled behind the lawmower has been fun.
No school for two days (with a weekend in there) for 6 inches of snow? Ha, you crazy Tennesseans :). The kids got out of school early on Thursday because of a weather man screw up. They said snow showers which to people in CT is nothing. Just another day at the park. Well, those snow showers turned into an actual snow storm. I had brought Joe to work at 7 and there was nothing. Didn't even look like we were getting snow. Then at 8 I was feeding the kids breakfast and the roads were covered. Still, school was on. I brought the kids in. Roads weren't bad, but there were lots of accidents being talked about on the radio. I got a phone call around 10:30 though that school was getting out early. Half an hour later the snow had stopped. We did get ice that night though. It was a few inches of snow, but the kids had school the next day. No delay or anything.
Enjoy the beautiful winter wonderland..
Kellsey has the look on her face like she's thinking "DARN!!! Ukraine found me!!"
So weird! We get 4 feet of snow and as long as the power is still on, we have school and NO 20 Car pileups!
LOVE the new blog look and the new family picture!!! SOOOOO joyful and adorable!
You've inspired me to adopt and we're so happy about our new commitment to Sofia (2)!!!!
I love that little snow man! :) Enjoy your snow, because here in Wisconsin we get too much to get excited about it. :P
(I found your blog while hopping from one to another.)
Peace.
Wow, I think you've gotten more snow in TN than we have here in the Catskills, NY all of this winter!
Kids love snow, don't they? Hey, i'm curious.. do your children have a middle name?
Looks like fun :).
