Kellsey is sound asleep! She is snoring away... louder than usual... which I'm guessing is due to swelling from surgery? She ate a great dinner of mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese and vanilla pudding. When she was eating her pudding, I asked her for a bite and opened my mouth and she held out her spoon and was going to feed me. That is huge!! Coming from an orphanage, she has been very neurotic about her food. If we touch it, she thinks we're taking it from her and she freaks out. Seriously. So for her to offer me a bite of her food, especially one of her favorite foods, especially when she hadn't eaten all day, and especially to ME, who is not always her most favorite person in the world, was huge! I didn't take the bite, but I did thank her and tell her how sweet she was for sharing. :) She kind of looked relieved like, "Good, because I really didn't want to share with you!" haha But hey, it's progress!
I am 99.9% sure we are out of here tomorrow. I can't think of any reason they would want to keep her longer. She is eating and drinking just great. Her pulse is really low, but I'm thinking the machine is defective because she is active and acting normal. Even the codiene she is on doesn't seem to make her sleepy. Hopefully the rest of her recovery will continue to go this smoothly. Here are a couple pictures of her eating her dinner. Thanks for continuing to pray for her! I am going to try to get some sleep. More tomorrow.

yeah on the offer from her to you!!! she is such a trooper and a cute one too!!
There is something just so sweet about that first picture...she looks so grown up and mature and so sweet.
That's amazing! I keep hearing that it gets rough around the 3rd day...hope she passes that day with flying colors!
Know that you're in my thoughts and prayers right now!
Psalms 28:6-7 Blessed be the LORD, because he hath heard the voice of my supplications. The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.

she is such a cutie. Glad she's doing so well. Here's to getting released today :).
Oh sweet baby girl!!! What is it about a child in a hospital bed, no matter what the cause that is just so darn pityful? She looks great and I'm amazed that she is eating so well. I mean Noah did too, but not many kids will even drink anything after T&A surgery. She is so cute sitting there cross legged on that bed eating. I could just squeeze her!!!
I am so glad she is doing well, but especially overjoyed to hear about this HUGE milestone (her offering you food)! I know that food has always been a struggle with Kellsey, but considering all she went through in the beginning of her life, I know this is HUGE! Such amazing progress in such a relatively short period of time is testament to the parents that God chose for her. I pray that Kellsey will continue to emerge from her shell as she learns from you that true, unconditional love means never giving up- no matter what obstacles are thrown your way! You are a wonderful mother, Renee.
So glad Kellsey's operation went well - hope you are already home or on your way as I type this - and I am thrilled for you about her offering you her food, that is indeed HUGE! Yay for both of you!
oh I just want to grab her and kiss those cheeks! Her and my Miley look so much alike!
