About a month ago, my son Kameron got sick. Then he got sicker. He doesn't get sick often, but when he does it, he does it well. When I couldn't get his 105 temp to break, I took him to the doctor and a nose swab confirmed my fears: Influenza B. At the same time I had my other son, Keeghan, tested who was also sick and he had the same fate. *sigh* So we headed home and I put them to bed and loaded them up on fluids and tried to keep them away from the girls... and tried to keep them from breathing on ME!
That was the first time that I heard the word Oscillococcinum. One of my friends told me to start taking it at the first symptom. My mom brought me a box, I gave it to the boys right away, and the next day when I got a sore throat, I emptied a tube in my mouth. We all continued to take it over the next several days. I'm not sure that it did much good for Kameron since he had already been sick so long, but Keeghan fought off the flu rather quickly and I didn't. get. sick. A-mazing. I am the mom who always gets sick when my kids get sick, despite constant hand-washing and lots of Lysol! I was so excited!
Then, a week or so later, the people from the Oscillococcinum company sent me an email out of the blue and asked if I'd like to review their product and do a giveaway. I said, "Oh my goodness, YES! I will sing your praises from the rooftops!" LOL So they sent me a free box of Oscillococcinum for next time I need it... which hopefully there won't be a next time any time soon, but it's good until 2014, so I think I'm covered! ;)
So, here's all the technical
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), flu activity in the United States has picked up over the last few weeks – 44 states are currently reporting widespread, regional or local flu activity. And as the peak of flu season fast approaches, many of our own households have at least one member suffering from this illness. So while we hope you and your family stay healthy this winter, be prepared to nip those nasty flu-like symptoms in the bud with Oscillococcinum. Oscillococcinum (“Oscillo” for short) works best when taken at the first sign of flu-like symptoms such as fatigue, body aches, chills and fever. It has been shown in clinical studies to help reduce both the duration and the severity of flu-like symptoms. Oscillo’s sweet-tasting, melt-away pellets are safe for everyone two years of age and older, and no water, chewing or swallowing is required. Oscillo works safely and naturally without causing side effects, including drowsiness. There’s also no risk of overdose and no interactions with other medications. More information can be found by visiting www.oscillo.com or by viewing our brand new Oscillo multi-media player (http://bit.ly/gVwqpi), featuring videos, educational links, coupons and more! So, what's up for grabs here? One box of Oscillococcinum to one lucky winner!!
What do you have to do to win? Tell me you want to win! That's it! Whether you've tried Oscillo before or not, you are eligible! You just have to want it! :) And of course, if you post this giveaway on your blog or Facebook and leave me a separate comment telling me you did so, you'll get a second chance to win! :) I will use random.org to choose a winner on Friday, March 4, 2011.
Good luck and best wishes for a healthy flu season for you and your loved ones!

Well I think you know I want it :D I LOVE LOVE LOVE that product!!!
linked to facebook :D
Oh my, I have never heard of this. We just had 3 in our family come down with the flu in less than a week's time. Tamiflu at $50 a pop X 3 adds up! I would love to have this on hand if it happens again.

So my whole house (including 2 week old baby) is sick with a cold. I don't think it's the flu. CJ is the only one who had a fever, but he also had a double ear infection. Obviously this is a little late for our current situation, but with four kids we're bound to get some illness running through the house again and I'll do anything to keep the kids from getting sick.
Sign me up! With six kids, someone is always sick. We moved in November and I have had at least one child home sick one at least. day a week since we moved
Of course I want this!!
As a first year preschool teacher I am exposed to a ridiculous amount of germs. Because of this, I have felt like I am sick almost constantly. This Oscillococcinum seems like it would be a good investment for me to make! :-D
Being a teacher and mom to 4, I'm sure I will be able to use this soon.

I'd try it!
Yes please! I'd like to win some. Could definitely use it at times.
Thank you.
I want to win. :)
Well isn't this an interesting idea for a giveaway! I've heard of this but never used it. Would be game to give it a try, though!
Oh this sounds like something I NEED! Everyone except Jack had been lucky so far but this has been a bad year for germs. I'm glad to hear about this stuff!
You realize that the fact that it can't be OD'ed on means that there is nothing in it whatsoever that would actually work?
So what was your experience with it? Mine was that I still got sick, and the only thing it pretty much did was give me a diarrhea due to the carrying substarnce.
See? It's that whole linking to FB that messes me up. It's okay...give it to someone else. Just wanted to do my daily stopping by cuz I love you guys!
These verses are so comforting. Continuing to pray!!!!!!!!!
Revelation 21:1-4 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

WELL HECK YEAH I want it! I could have used it Friday night and Saturday.
What is in the tube? Does it taste bad, cause if it does, that won't work for me!
I would love to have this on hand in our house. Of course, I'm hoping we don't get sick anytime soon either!
Dear,sweet,Renee,
I WANT TO WIN!!!!!
I'm terrified of the flu since I work with children and I'm allergic to the flu vaccine. This sounds like something I should carry in my purse. (I'm not exaggerating).
i'd love to have it just in case we get the yuckies!!!!
With 9 of us in this house, 2 already having had the flu, I would LOVE this product to try out next time. It's great it has a long shelf life too. Thanks.

I tell everyone about Oscillo!!! It's my favorite winter-time med. :) Josh and I got over the flu fairly quickly (3 days total!)in December when we took it. LOVE that stuff!
I'd love to try it! I seem to always catch what the kids I work with have....
I'd love to win this. My kid doesn't get sick often but better safe than sorry. :D
I have been using this product for years now. My mom is a homeopathic practitioner, so I'm well aware of the advantages to using homeopathic remedies. We take this in our household every couple of weeks for the whole flu season as a preventative, and while we do get the occasional cold or tummy upset, we are for the most part flu-free! When we do get sick, we aren't down for days with raging fevers either! It really works!
I HOPE I won't need it for the remainder of this flu season, but I'd love to have it on hand JUST IN CASE! :)
