Pray for Claire...

This is Claire Devins. In November, 2006, Claire was diagnosed with one of the most aggressive brain tumors AT/RT. We have been following her journey since 2007 when she was introduced to use through our friend Angela whose son Cody was battling the same nasty tumor.

Claire has been fighting a long, long time. She has beaten a lot of odds when it comes to AT/RT. We've been cheering her on from a distance and praying hard for her and her whole family for so many years. Her journey has been full of ups and downs. Every time I would see an update email for her caringbridge site, I would hesitate a little before opening it and then say a prayer of thanks when I would read that all was well.

Today though, I was not prepared for what I read:

"We've learned that Claire has multiple tumors in her abdomen and lungs. This combined with the growing brain tumors lead us to the end of her Earthly treatment. It's clear that our girl will be going to Heaven very soon."

It took my breath away. I hate cancer. I hate it so very much. I've been thinking about Claire all day... I've been thinking about her parents, Joe and Liz, as they prepare to take Claire home from St. Jude's to California to spend her final days... however long those may be. I have been praying that those days will be happy ones. That Claire's body will let her do all the things she wants to do and that her four precious siblings can make some wonderful memories with her.

Please pray with me for the Devin's family. You can follow their journey, send a word of encouragement and love, and meet this most amazing little girl on their site

There's always something to believe in.

Oh Renee! The tears are streaming down my face. Cancer just sucks! I pray her days will be full and happy before Jesus takes her home. This is so very sad! :(

I love/hate that CaringBridge site. It helps so many to share the needs of families all over and sometimes brings news of AWESOME recoveries! But, sometimes... opening it is to find the saddest little stories that we never pictured in our heads.

I pray for that family and for all the lives that little girl has touched through her battles. I can say I am happy that she will get to see the Lord. My grandma's up there to watch over her! :) / :(

Continuing to lift up prayer!
Psalms 18:31-33 For who is God save the LORD? or who is a rock save our God? It is God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect. He maketh my feet like hinds' feet, and setteth me upon my high places.
