After the kids' dentist appointments yesterday, Frank picked Kassidy and Kameron up and took them to the DEERS office on post where they issue ID cards. Kassidy was supposed to get a new one too because hers expires next month, but she forgot to bring her current one to turn in, so they wouldn't let her do it. Oh well! She can get it over Christmas break.
Here are some pictures of Kameron getting his very first ID card! :)
We're walking...
We're walking...
We're walking... almost there...
I'm the 66th person in line!
And Kassidy doesn't get one today. Ha Ha!
They're taking my picture... I have to hold still...
I'm one cool dude! Now let's go see what this baby can DO! :o)
I see many trips to post to shop at the PX in our future just so the kids can use their cards! haha

So funny - he looks so proud! I'm a USAF spouse but grew up a USAF kid... I remember getting my first ID at 10 as well. Back then they were the old laminated style. I went to the BX and was so proud to hold it up... and then realized I'd been holding it upside down. Mortifying!
That said, the USAF now does not check IDs to get into the BX... just when you come on base, etc.
My almost 4 year old has an ID already... he was going to my parents' house for a couple weeks so we opted to get him an ID to make it easier if my parents had to take him for medical care. It is stuck a way in the firesafe and never sees the light of day at this point.
Congrats Kameron! You look very official!!! Oh...and very cool too!!! :)
I had a dependent card for a total of 3 months, back in 1972. The day after we returned from our honeymoon, Bob took me on post to make me "official". I think I still have some of the certified copies of our marriage license that were made that day. If 2 was suggested, I'm sure that Bob insisted on 4!
Congrats to Kameron.

Congrats Kameron! I know Taylor was so excited when she was able to get hers. I remember getting my 1st one...I still have the last one I got before I was married. It is with my medical files. When the base in memphis shut down we were able to get our medical records, never have needed them but I have them if I ever need them. Now I have one with my married name.
So...just what CAN Kameron do with that card?
Continuing to pray!
Psalms 91:14-15 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.

Awesome Kameron!!! I got my first military ID card too this year and it feels exciting. I wish I lived near a PX to use it. I hope you get some awesome things with your ID card! :)

I've got one at my house counting down to April when she gets her first ID card!
In case you care (I'm weird, so I did..lol), you can ask them to give you Kassidy's photo from her very first ID card when you turn it in. I wanted Jakob's because he'd changed SO much it seemed. Plus, I thought it'd be a nice keepsake. So, the lady cut the photo out of the card and gave it to me :)
