Two Years Ago...

Well, this post should have apparently gone up 5 days ago... I keep getting two dates in November mixed up badly! Today, November 15th, is actually the day Frank and I started dating 14 years ago. I know, we're getting old. haha Two years ago on November 10th, which is when I meant to write this post, something else very important happened! :o)

Two years ago on November 10th, Frank and I were sitting in a tiny crowded courthouse just outside of Kiev, Ukraine where a judge asked us lots of questions and then officially pronounced us the parents of this little girl...

We had no idea that day about the journey we were about to begin. It's been one of the hardest, most wonderful, most rewarding, sometimes most frustrating things we have ever done. And we wouldn't trade our little girl for the world.

We have been able to watch her grow from a baby into a sweet, silly, stubborn little girl, who we have no doubt is going to be able to hold her own in life no matter what she decides to do!

Happy "Becoming a Garcia Day", Kellsey!!!

We're so glad we belong to you!! :o)

Gosh, she has come such a long way. Look at her. Doesn't even look like the same baby you met 2 years ago and held in your arms.

It doesn't seem like 2 yrs. I can't even imagine what her life would be like if she were still in the orphanage. Amazing changes.

Wow, 2 years has really flown by! Sometimes it seems like she just got here and other days I can't seem to remember when she wasn't part of your family :) Happy "gotcha day" Kellsey :)

She looks so much healthier now. Even her skin is clear and glowing. Her face looked really bloated before. Good job! I was wondering does she talk at all and/or understand English? What is her level of comprehension since she also has DS in addition to her language barrier?? It must be hard to learn a new language as well as deal with DS. Is she on a level of a 1 yr old or 2 yr old now? She looks great!!!

Wow, I remember following your journey - bringing Kellsey home. It some ways it seems like it was just yesterday that you first blogged about adopting her...can't believe it has been two years. Those two pictures - before and after - are absolutely priceless. God bless you and Kellsey Garcia!

What a sweetheart!
Whatever the Lord allows to happen in your life, He'll get you through! Praying!
Psalms 91:9-12 Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

Wow...two years already! I love celebrating this day (We call it "Gracie Day" in our house because we celebrate the day the adoption was final since we 'got her' the day she as born). Happy Garcia Day to Kellsey and the entire family. You all are amazing...she is beautiful. Love you all!

Love that girl!! She's starting to look more and more like a school-ager instead of a little, little girl! You all are such great parents and I'm so glad that Kellsey has a home and family. God is good!
