All Hooked Up

After we dropped the rest of the kids off at school this morning, Kellsey and I went over to the hospital and she got all hooked up for her EEG. They glued about 20 electrodes to her head which was interesting... it involved cold glue, an air gun thing that was REALLY loud and she was NOT thrilled with lol, and lots of... sticky! After everything was on and she made sure it was working, they wrapped her up in gauze.

I told them she looks like one of the patients on ER who had a concussion or something! LOL Then they put the machine in a little backpack, let her wear it, and we got to go home! First though we stopped off for lunch... a girl's gotta eat! ;)

So now we wait... the wires are doing their thing, transmitting her brainwaves into the machine, which will be read all night. We have to be back tomorrow around 11 for them to take it off. Then 2 different people (one of them being her neurologist) will read all the stuff from it, and get back to us. It's supposed to take a few weeks.

There was a poster hanging in the EEG office today that listed all the types of seizures and their symptoms and I'm 99% sure that, if anything, she's having Partial Complex Seizures. She has all the symptoms on the list. It was actually kind of crazy seeing it all listed out like that. I guess time will tell.

Anyway, that's about all we did today... and I'm exhausted. I'm going to eat some soup, watch a little TV and then crash for the night and hope that Kellsey will sleep all night long and  not pull any wires off.

I can dream, right?! ;)

i kind of hope she sleeps all night for you as to not pull off the wires, but you need her to not sleep at the same time so that they get her brain waves or whatever it is from her 'normal' daily patterns.. Its a tough choice tho! LOL!

Praying for you guys! I don't see how a girl can sleep wearing all that stuff but then I'm reminded of my mama making me sleep in foam rollers for church the next morning (my hair is straight as a board so they always kept falling out, and a curling iron never does the trick)...so maybe the cap isn't TOO bad. :)

Praying for answers and then trusting God to provide wisdom on how to move forward in Kellsey's best interest! She's so adorable in her EEG hat! Hope it stayed on through the night! (((HUGS)))!!

I think you said once that you don't cook. What do your kid's eat for dinner then? And if Frank cooks, what do you do when he's deployed ? Takeout?
