Kemper Dance Academy has A LOT of talent. Some of these kids just amaze me with their dedication, perseverance and love of their craft. Many of these older kids are at dance 5 nights a week, practicing, stretching, learning and working hard to become better dancers.
Meet Hailey... she is my friend Carmen's daughter and big sister to Jaemen who happens to have Down syndrome. This year for her solo, Hailey wanted to do something special to honor her brother... I think she achieved that. This is one of the most beautiful lyrical dances I have ever seen... makes me cry every time. I bet you will, too.
Thank you Hailey for being an awesome big sister, an amazing Down syndrome advocate and a beautiful dancer!!
This actually came up as a recommendation after I watched Kennedy's solo.
I have to say, watching Kennedy dance made me smile and gave me that warm fuzzy feeling and was absolutely wonderful. I love how her spunk AND her joy come shining through in what she does.
And watching Hailey dance gave me goosebumps. What a beautiful, moving tribute. She and her brother are blessed to have one another.
As for Kennedy's moves - I've said it before and I'm certain I'll say it again: that girl dances a million times better than I EVER could.
Lifting up prayers! Psalms 145:14-18 The LORD upholdeth all that fall, and raiseth up all those that be bowed down. The eyes of all wait upon thee; and thou givest them their meat in due season. Thou openest thine hand, and satisfiest the desire of every living thing. The LORD is righteous in all his ways, and holy in all his works. The LORD is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth. My email address
Just....WOW! What a stunningly beautiful dance. Hailey is absolutely beautiful outside, but this shows how absolutely beautiful inside she is also....a tribute to her parents and their parenting, I'm sure :-). She dances so amazing...maybe one day we'll see her on So You Think You Can Dance (my favorite show). Thank you for sharing!
Know that I'm here praying! John 11:25-26: Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this? My email address

Welcome!
Welcome to my blog where I take on day to day life with my five amazing children: Kassidy, Kameron, Kennedy, Keeghan & Kellsey, and a husband in the Military. Join us as we face issues with Down syndrome, Leukemia, Deployments, and every day life with 5 young kids! You'll be in for the ride of your life!
My name is Renee, I am 34 years old, I am married to the Army... oh wait I mean I'm married to a Soldier, my hero. Same thing right? I am a misplaced Californian who lives in Colorado by way of Tennessee. I am a mini-van driving soccer mom... I always knew I would be! I am blessed to be able to stay home with my 5 amazing kids. Kassidy: my beautiful, too smart for her own good, funny, dramatic 13 year old who is starting her teen years with grace. Kameron: My high strung, smart, artistic, creative, silly, sometimes mysterious 11 year old who loves musical theater and acting. My 8 year old diva, Kennedy: who will most often be found dancing or dreaming of Justin Bieber. She's destined for the stars! Keeghan: my crazy, funny, silly, handsome 5 year old monkey who loves to ask me a million questions all day long; and our 6 year old Ukrainian Princess Kellsey who is finding her way in the world as she battles Reactive Attachment Disorder. Our goal for her is to make sure she knows she is always loved, wherever that may take her... I'm so incredibly blessed.
