Still Here

Hi everyone! We are here in California safe and sound. The kids and I ended up driving straight through in one shot. We left around 10am on Wednesday morning and got to my grandmother's house around 5am on Thursday morning. As always, it was an eventful trip, but the kids did GREAT and we were all happy to be out of the car! Since we've been here, we have seen a few friends and the kids have been swimming a lot, which they love. They are enjoying spending time with their cousins and great-grandmother. :) Frank is currently sitting on Kuwait waiting for a flight to the States. We should see him in the next few days. We are all so excited, of course! Our house is still just fine back at home. I have friends checking in with me daily to let me know things are ok. The fire is now 55% contained and the firefighters are still working hard to get it out. They said with the new fire lines they have, there should not be anymore homes lost. Please be praying for the 347 families who lost their houses. Two people have also died and several more are missing. Please be praying for their families as well. My Internet connection is REALLY poor here so my postings may be few for the next couple weeks. If I get bored enough I will hit up a Starbucks for free wi-fi. ;) I am off to bed for the night, I just wanted to check in and let you know we are still here and all is well!! :)

Praise God you guys made it safe! I've been following Frank & told him just last night that I'm praying for him! Praising God that the fires are now at 55% instead of 5% & that your home is still OK. Still praying for families who lost their homes & families who have lost family members forever or who have family members who are missing.

Renee, We're praying for Frank & that he can fly back to the states soon. Also praying for families who have lost lived ones or who have family missing because of the fires. Praising God that you & the kids made it safe, that your house is still OK & that the fires are at 55% contained compared to the 5% the other day!

So very glad to hear from you and that you are all safe, Frank is on his way, and your home is still standing! Praise God!! We are, of course, praying so very hard for all of those who have been horribly affected by the fires. Don't even worry about blogging for one moment! Just enjoy your time away with hubby and family and we'll look forward to catching up with pics and stories when you get back to CO! Enjoy! Sending lots of (((BIG BIG HUGS)))!!!!

I can't believe you're losing this time with Frank!
Know that I'm here praying!
Psalms 94:17-19, 22 Unless the LORD had been my help, my soul had almost dwelt in silence. When I said, My foot slippeth; thy mercy, O LORD, held me up. In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul...But the LORD is my defence; and my God is the rock of my refuge.

Praying that these words give you comfort!
John 14:1-3 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

But now Frank's there, too! So it's all good!
Always look to the Lord whatever the need. Praying!
Psalms 121:1-4 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth. He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.

Always here praying!
Psalms 121:5-8 The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand. The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.
