Kameron Update

We went to the orthopedic doctor today and he gave me the x-rays of Kam's thumb and said he was pretty surprised that they referred him over there since there's not much they can do. The fracture is at the top of his thumb, right at the tip. The orthopedist was more worried about his thumb nail which he is pretty sure will fall off at some point. It was almost completely black today. He said that once it falls off it will take 4-6 months to grow back. Awesome.

Kameron is still in a bit of pain, but it seems to be better than it was yesterday as long as no one touches it. He even went back to school this morning before his appointment. He's a tough cookie. Anyway, here's one of the pics of Kam's xray... the arrow is pointing to the fracture... which I can barely even see... but whatever! LOL

One more adventure under our belt... hopefully the kids will stay away from the rocks in our backyard now! ;)

I hope it won't be the case and I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I broke my thumb when I was 11 and lost the nail and yes, not only did it take that long to grow back, but it didn't come back the same and hasn't been the same since (although my break was at the joint).

Always look to the Lord whatever the need. Praying!!!!!!!!!!!
Psalms 121:1-4 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth. He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.

I do see that little fracture...it's definitely there but I can see why there isn't much they can do. Wish they COULD do something about the thumbnail....makes me a little sqeamish...but Kameron will probably be a trooper! He's already shown that he can be! (((HUGS)))!!!!

While it probably will take that long to grow back, Kameron might get lucky with *when* the old nail falls off. I lost both a thumbnail and a toenail through various childhood accidents. Both nails took a while to fall off, and when they did the new nail had already been growing underneath it for quite some time and was already more than half grown. I'm notoriously squeamish about fingernails and always have been - so much so that I still dread cutting my own nails as an adult and I don't remember being weirded out by my half-grown nails at all. Oh, and the new nails grew back just fine. Anyway, hopefully that gives you some hope! I hope Kam feels better soon!
