Hate to hear that Frank is deployed again. I will be praying for strength and comfort (an healthy kids! :) ) for all of you while he is away. I am sure it is never easy, but hopefully as the kids have gotten older it has gotten a little easier. Hang in there. Hugs from Florida!

Hi,

Longtime lurker here! My name is Jenny and I'm from the UK. I was wanting let you know about Operation Purple. I'm sure you know what it is but if not it is summer camps that are run for kids whose parent is/has been/will be deployed overseas. I spent last summer working at the OP camp in Nebraska. It was an amazing experience and really opened my eyes to what being a military kid is like! I wonder if your older two kids might benefit from meeting other kids in a similar situation to themselves and also enjoy a fantastic (and free!) camp experience. OP is run by Easter Seals Nebraska and is one of the few OP camps to accept kids with disabilities so Kennedy would be able to join her siblings if she wanted to! The staff spent the whole summer working with kids and adults with disabilities as part of the Easter Seals program so they are very well experienced and extremely caring. Sometimes when my husband leaves the kids get random "aches and pains". I think it's somehow related to the pain that they are feeling about thier dad. All I know is that extra hugs, attention, and time seems to be the only thing that makes it go away. :( I hope your kids are ok....and you too.
